Since I have no decorating ability whatsoever I need your opinion. Where do my curtains needed cut off and hemmed? Right below the window sill or right above the heater vent on the floor?

I would hem about 4" below the window trim. If it is just below the window, it will look too top heavy. |

How about making them even with the top of the outlet? That way it'll look nice and straight. |

I like them puddled on the floor too! But they will get dusty like that, so I would say about the length as in this picture (from Country Curtains by the way)

The hip new thing to do is to raise your curtain rod way above the window and it makes your ceilings look higher. |

Yup - I'd raise the curtain rods....no sewing required!
I like that color of blue on the wall! |

I would raise it so the bottom of the valance is just covering the window trim at the top. By the way is the rod uneven now, looks like it's going down hill? |

I would move the curtain rod up about 6-8". Then the bottom of the curtain should be just above the heating vent, and you wont have to hem at all. Right now, I think the valance is too long for that window, but if you move the rod up some, it should look better. |

If this is your beachy themed room, I think that the valance is too heavy, without it the curtain would seem more airy.. KWIM?
I do like the curtains that are from the window to the floor. |

I looked at moving the curtain rod up but didn't like it above the window. It was only about 4-5 inches from the ceiling and it just didn't look right. So I pinned up the curtains in two different lengths. I like the one on the left (the shorter one) and my husband likes the one on the right (the longer one). Opinions???
