Petee Posted December 21, 2010 Share Posted December 21, 2010 Since there's no foliage to use water if you give it too much the roots will just rot. Keep it drier than normal and see if anything sprouts from the side of the old trunk, or maybe it will even send up some new leaves from the center. lavender Posted December 21, 2010 Share Posted December 21, 2010 Depends on the kind of palm. Some have one central growth point and some will put out side shoots. Too bad it happened now when the plant was not in active growth. This is why transplanting is best done in the spring. The plant is growing and is more likely to fill that new pot with roots when top growth is active. I'm glad you didn't continue with the repotting. Give it some time and see what happens.
