Russian Sage!! They smell great and handle our winters very well!!! We have been getting babies from ours for the past 2 years. They get about 3 feet tall, if that is to tall for your area, there are minature ones also.

I thought they were Russian Sage because I tried to grow a few here. They didn't survive the ex and her weed eater.

 

I think they are cool looking plants.

 

If you would like some I have a few you can have.

Only plant them where they get good drainage or they won't survive. With all the rain we've had planting them now would probably be OK. In drier weather I'd wait until things cooled off. Russian sage is what is called a xeriscape plant. Once they are settled in they will take a drought, very hot weather or anything summer can throw at them. They like lots of sun, too.

I had a few mature plants near my deck, they got too big for the place so I attempted to transplant them but they did not survive.
