Pappy
This must be a female downy woodpecker as she has no red on her head.
Pappy
This one is a Pileated Woodpecker that I scared as I walked outside to get a pick of a blackbird and it was in a tree on my left and flew away scared as much as I was also. It was big and gave me start when it took off as I was not expecting it. It flew into a tree across the road and I managed to get a somewhat pic of it. Just wish I could have gotten it a bit closer. We have a tee out front and some years ago a family of Pileated had made it their home. Mother raising her young. I will have to search for those pics Bon
Pappy
As you can see we had a variety here today. Blue Jays( about 7 of these), woodpeckers( downy, Pileated, red-bellied) also cardinals both male and female and of course today we had three squirrels although one of the two that have been hanging around chased the third into the woods. This pic is a female downy I believe above the male downy Pompeii and Bon

Bon
Gator - check your house & garage very carefully for holes. We had one that put 3 holes in the Apple tree. He also was putting holes in the neighbors shed. We haven't seen him since we quit feeding the birds & the squirrels.
Pappy
Well had the same birds showing up plus a special visitor that I just managed to get a picture of. I managed to get the camera turned on and focus in on him and snapped one picture before he flew off. Luckily when I saw him flying in I had my camera close by. It was a Pileated Woodpecker. Then of course we still had the Downy show up and the Red bellied woodpeckers as well. We still have robins at least three but they would not come down out of the trees. pwacm
In reference to post 28 1st pic. Is that a Chameleon or a Blue Jay ? It blends in pretty good with its environment there.

LOL yes it does. It does blend in well with the blue tarps covering up the boats in the background. The two on the ground are a little difficult to see as well. TD
These are some great shots. Nice going! You must have quite a collection. I wrote a poem in the past about a woodpecker and would like to share it with you. The title is TREE DRUM. Woodpecker drilling with that jackhammer beak How thrilling, is it food he will seek And when he is through and his hunger appeased Drum roll please! Mack613
Don't just watch them outside invite them closer. While doing work on the storm windows recently this brave little chickadee seemed happy to have a personal feeding spot even if I was standing right there holding the trail cam. After viewing this on YouTube thanks to Steve posting there for me, it seems we still have a way to go as many have gotten Chickadee's to eat from their hand. They seem to have a good sense of direction as well knowing enough to turn and go right back out the open window Pappy and Bon

Pappy
These little buggers caught my eye around 4 in the morning. I was walking through the living room and caught something moving outside. So I turned on the outside light and saw these two. Bon
