Administrators Pompeii Posted August 9, 2017 Administrators Share Posted August 9, 2017 Anna H. Schaffner, age 89, of DuBois, died Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at Christ the King Manor. Born on February 1, 1928 in Smithtown, PA, she was the daughter of the late David and Florabelle (Hinderleiter) Hilliard. She was married to John P. Schaffner, who preceded her death on April 21, 2002. Anna retired in administration from the University of South Alabama. She was born and raised in Falls Creek, PA. She then spent over 50 years in Mobile, Alabama before returning to the DuBois area. She was a member of PEO, and was a volunteer at the Mobile Museum of Art. She is survived by one son; Samuel J. Schaffner and his wife Audrey of Ringwood, NJ and one grandson Leo L. Schaffner. She was preceded in death by one brother (James Hilliard) and one sister (Delores Shindledecker) Friends will be received on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 11 AM until 12 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
