Frank J. "Gouch" Bontempo, age 86, of DuBois died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born May 18, 1931 in Sykesville, PA, he is the son of the late Grace (Deluca) Bontempo.

On September 5, 1953, he married Barbara (Makufka) Bontempo. She survives. 

Frank retired in March of 1995 from U.P.S. as a tractor trailer driver after many years of service. 

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, and was an avid hunter and longtime bowler.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Thomson and her husband Jim of DuBois, PA; one son Rick Bontempo and his wife Colleen of Rockton, PA; six grandchildren, Lindsey Herzing, Garrett Bontempo, Justin Schoening, Catie Bontempo, Lauren Thomson and Nick Bontempo; and four great grandchildren, Giuliana and Lucy Bontempo & Darin and Charlotte Herzing. He is also survived by a sister in law Marty McCullough and by numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by three sisters, (Mary Riazzi; Clara Adamczyk; and Pauline Minutolo) and five brothers, (Nick, Joe and Mike Ross, and Dominic and Tony Botempo)

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10 AM from the chapel at Christ the King Manor with Fr. Matis Quimno as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed to the charity of the donor's choice.
