Question

Does anyone know why this is suddenly popping up on my screen?

Just going to say it is probably because something is wrong with the password. Plus Verizon I believe make some changes to their email system, they are getting out of the email business as they put it. Maybe the SMTP server changed.

I had the same thing happen to me. (Using Outlook.)

I can't for the life of me remember what actually caused that problem, but if you change the timing of your send/receive (changing it to refresh every 10 minutes instead of every 1, 2, whatever it's at) it should fix it.

Make sure your password is correct before you try anything ...

If it is  .... Go to start on bottom left, search for control panel, go to that

search for credential manager, go to that

Highlight web credentials....

find the credentials that have the word outlook in ... to the right there should be a option to remove,  ... remove it

and remove all that have outlook in

Let me know if that works..

Verizon sent their e-mail program to AOL but that was done last summer.

I'm beyond hollering!  I'm hysterical since I use my computer and e-mail for work.

I was about to call AOL and realized.......AOL Password, not the old Outlook Password.  It worked.  I have no idea why it just decided to do this today, but it's fixed just in time for me to finish my work and get to bed.

Thank you for trying.
