Administrators Pompeii Posted January 19, 2018 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2018 Ellen Elizabeth (Dungey) Stahlnecker, Age 85 of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Born on September 18, 1932 in DuBois she was the daughter of the late Frank & Annie (Oyston) Dungey. She married to the man of her dreams, George Henry Stahlnecker, Jr. on June 3, 1951, who preceded her in death. They were married for 66 years. She was a devoted wife, and enjoyed fishing, gardening and quilting. Ellen was a member of and enjoyed the Chat N Sew quilt club for many years. Ellen, is mourned by her daughters, Sue and her husband Harry Rugh, Karen and her husband Robert Gerew, and her devoted son Les Stahlnecker. Her beloved granddaughter, Emily Gerew, who was the light of her life and could always make her smile also survives. Her sister Ruth Himes and beloved sisters in laws Betty Cessna and Helen Molnar survive. She is preceded in death by her brothers; William (Bill) Dungey, Edward (Ed) Dungey and sisters, Doris Brooks and Lois Aughenbaugh. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Hospice. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care were a heartwarming blessing to the entire family. We thank god for the gift of her life and the blessing of the time we spent with her. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held celebrating Ellen and George’s lives at a future date. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
