Administrators Pompeii Posted March 11, 2018 Administrators Share Posted March 11, 2018 Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Blasdell, Age 89 of DuBois, PA, formerly of Sykesville, PA died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Christ the King Manor. Born on April 27, 1928 in Sykesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony & Nancy (Torre) Parente. On December 27, 1953, she married Donald R. Blasdell. He preceded her in death in February of 2008. Betty retired as an administrative assistant from Ideal Products after over 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and a past member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville. She enjoyed cooking, baking, & ceramics. Betty was a very giving person to her brothers and sisters, family, and friends. She is survived by 3 children (Denise Rusnak of Coral Springs, FL, John Blasdell & his wife Diane, and Donald Blasdell & his wife Lisa, both of DuBois, PA) 3 grandchildren (Kristen & Kathryn Rusnak, and Cietta Blasdell) and a step grandson (Benjamin Blakley IV). She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters (Catherine Dolinar, Lucy Parente, and Teresa Yeafol), 4 brothers (Angelo, Michael, Paul, & Joseph Parente) and a very special nephew (Anthony Parente). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. from the Chapel at Christ the King Manor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Christ the King Chapel with Fr. Matias Quimno as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
