Charles O. “Chuck” Krouse, 87, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born March 31,1931 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of G. Oscar and Ruth (Wolfe) Krouse. He was graduated in 1949 from Punxsutawney High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 1958, having completed requirements in three years. He was married to the former Phebe Smith June 13,1959.

Chuck served in the US Air Force Strategic Air Command from August 1951 until August 1953 during the Korean War and was stationed for 30 months in Japan. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.
In 1958 Chuck began employment with Brockway Glass Inc. in Sales and Marketing was later named Product Manager of the Foods Division. He served the company in Brockway, PA

Cincinnati, OH and in Chicago IL, where he was promoted to Vice President of Brockway’s Midwest Region. He was with Brockway Inc. and later Owens-Brockway for a total of 32 years, retiring in 1990.

Chuck was a member the Brockway Presbyterian Church where he served in various capacities, including as long-time chairman of the church’s finance committee. He was a member of the DuBois Country Club and the American Legion and was active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was very proud that his two sons and grandson all attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Chuck was an excellent outdoorsman with a passion for trout fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Pierre “Pete” Smith Krouse, (Dorothy Mundy-Krouse) of Houston and Dallas Texas, Andrew Philip Krouse of Hummelstown, PA; one daughter, Colby Suzanne Krouse of Chicago, IL; one brother Glenn A. Krouse (the late Nancy London Krouse) of Cherokee Village, AR; two grandchildren, Jessica Erin Krouse and David Charles Krouse of Dallas TX; two nieces, Susan Krouse and Barbara Kish; two nephews, Daniel and Thomas Krouse. He was preceded in death by one brother, George F. Krouse (Ann Moe Krouse) of Pengilly MN. Another cherished sister-by-marriage is Suzanne Smith of Casa Grande, AZ.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Brockway Presbyterian Church, 817 Main Street, Brockway PA, 15824 with the Rev. Christopher McCloskey and the Rev. Daniel Little, Pastor Emeritus officiating. Later interment will be at Circle Hill Cemetery in Punxsutawney. 
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium.
