Ballute, Age 88, of Sarver, PA, formerly of DuBois, PA died on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Quality Life Services in Sarver, PA. Born on April 14, 1930 in Curwensville, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Rakovan) Ballute. He served in the United States Army. On July 6, 1963 he married Rita Marie Beck Ballute. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2014. Joe worked at Howe's Leather Company in Curwensville for 44 years. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed reading the Bible and praying his rosary daily. Joe loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed cooking polish dishes and most importantly spending time with his family. Joe is survived by his daughter, Julie Wolfe & her husband Barry of Sarver, PA and 6 grandchildren, Holly, Laurel, Max, Kelly, Jordan & Sean. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers (Edward, Raymond and David Ballute). Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., in DuBois, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10 AM from the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery. Memorials may be placed with the American Cancer Society, 993 Beaver Drive, DuBois, PA 15801.
