Michael J. Kush, M.D., Age 72, of DuBois, PA died Monday, August 06, 2018 at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born on November 29, 1945 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Aloysius and Helen Guszkowski Kush.

He was a veteran of the United States Airforce where he was a flight surgeon.

On April 13, 1974 Michael married Cheryl L. Lozano Kush. She survives.

Dr. Kush was an OB-GYN Perinatologist with a Master's Degree in Public Health serving in the DuBois area.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Loyola University in Chicago.  He then went on to receive His Medical Doctor Degree from the Loyola University School of Medicine, and his Masters Degree in Perinatology Pubic Health from the University of Pittsburgh, Magee-Women's Hospital.

He was a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Pennsylvania Perinatal Association as well as the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine. He was also a member of the Kiwanis and a past member of the Rotary.

Michael was an avid hunter, who enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, boating and hiking.  Most of all, he loved the Lord, his family and friends.

Along with his wife, Dr. Kush is survived by 3 children, Elizabeth & her husband Dr. Dustin Case of Boalsburg, PA, Heather Kush and Brenton "BJ" Kush, both of DuBois, PA and 4 grandchildren; Mitchell, Mia, Teagan and Asher.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10 AM from the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Memorials may be placed with Penn Highlands Behavioral Heath, 635 Maple Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.

Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
