JoAnn D. Jewell, Age 77, of Taylor Avenue, Falls Creek, PA died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Born on July 21, 1941 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Dorothy Player Smith.

She was a 1959 graduate of the DuBois Area High School.

On November 26, 1988 she married Donald E. Jewell. He survives.

JoAnn retired from Owens Brockway after over 35 years of service.

She attended Lakeside United Methodist Church and enjoyed shopping and watching football. She enjoyed dancing and county music; she especially enjoyed The Moore Brothers. She loved to sit outside on her swing under her apple tree and was a member of the Penn Highlands Stoke Support Group. She loved luncheons with her high school classmates and retired co-workers; most of all, she loved her family.

JoAnn is survived by 2 daughters, Carol Bembenic & her husband Dennis of Brockway, PA and Brenda Sackandy & her husband Louis of Ellicott City, MD; 4 step children, Donald E. Jewell & his wife Tammy, Joseph T. Jewell & his wife Debbie & James M. Jewell all of DuBois, PA and Karen Hoover & her husband Mike of Falls Creek, PA; 2 sisters, Linda Keller of Reynoldsville, PA and Judith Owens & her husband Denny of DuBois, PA; 11 grandchildren, Kyleigh Sackandy Carrelli, Erik Sackandy and Amy & Gabriel Bembenic, Clayton Jewell, Shawn & Jordan Hoover, Brittany Crabb, Nichele Kose and Joe & Lauren Jewell and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step daughter (Sandra Jewell) and a grandson (Christopher Jewell).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11 AM from the Lakeside United Methodist Church with Evangelist Paul Morelli officiating.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed with Lakeside United Methodist Church, 420 First Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
