Solida , Age 89, of Northwood Avenue, DuBois, PA died on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on April 25, 1929 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary J. Gelnett Courson. She was a 1947 graduate of the Sandy High School. On February 4, 1950, she married Guy S. Solida. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2006. Della retired from Brockway Glass after 22 years of service. Previous to that, she had worked at BF Goodrich as well as the Avenue Theatre. She enjoyed quilting. Della is survived by 3 children, Guy J. Solida & his wife Betsy, Joseph A. Solida & longtime companion Sara Nicholson both of DuBois, PA and Pam Visnesky & longtime companion Larry Sarvey of Brookville, PA; a sister, Rosella Wiles of Falls Creek, PA; 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, (Bruce Gelnett and Bill, Paul, David & John Courson) and a sister (Jane Hangartner). Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 5-8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11 AM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will be in West Liberty Cemetery. Memorials may be placed with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 810 River Avenue, Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
