State police are investigating an incident in which a gun was pulled on children at a park in Derry Borough.The incident happened a little before 8:30 p.m. Sunday.State police said a fistfight had occurred between three boys.Investigators said Kevin Gross, the father of one of the children involved and the mayor of Derry Borough, had gone to the park to see what the commotion was about. Police said he pulled out his snub-nosed Smith & Wesson revolver on a juvenile male, ordered him to the ground onto his knees with his hands above his head.Police said the gun was pointed at three girls nearby, ages 12 through 15, and they were ordered to place their cell phones and other belongings on a bench and were ordered not to touch their phones, not allowing them to call their parents.State police said other parents and neighbors had heard about the incident and arrived at the park.Investigators said when troopers arrived on the scene, Gross holstered his firearm and later surrendered it to police.He is charged with aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment, and harassment.
