While the final round of the Masters took place on Sunday, CBS 46 in Atlanta had to interrupt the national coverage of the golf tournament in order to warn the public about tornado threats.

Ella Dorsey, a meteorologist at the station, shared on Sunday that she received death threats for cutting into the Masters programming.

On Monday, the station took time to address the vile threats issued to her and the meteorology team.

What’s really remarkable is that the station didn’t even completely cut away from the Masters. Instead, CBS 46 showed the tournament while reporting on the dangerous weather conditions in a separate box.

Even if the station had cut completely away from the Masters, the kind of responses that came in would have been unacceptable. It’s a shame that people failed to value the safety of their fellow human beings because there was a sporting event on television.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 SEE TWEET, VIDEO TWEET ;    http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/golf/meteorologist-received-death-threats-for-tornado-coverage-during-final-round-of-masters/ar-BBVY8NG?li=BBnba9I&ocid=HPCDHP

Golf pays good money for 2 hours of an individual sport( Boxing excluded).  $2 million on average for winning in these tournaments. Even if you are in 4 th or 5th place you get $400,000-500,000. $100,000 or so for 10th place. Not a bad day out on the course if you qualify. It is an expensive sport. But a hat or shirt promotion would cover expenses. Its also nice to see even the pros hit them into the wind and shank it like any seasonal player. And splash them in the pond.:tapfoot:

What is more important missing a few minutes of golf or getting an update on tornado information that may help save additional  injuries and prevent deaths.  I WOULD WANT INFORMATION ON TORNADO.  You can usually watch a sports channel and get highlights of game or possible replay of game.
