The U.S. Marshals office is warning western Pennsylvanians about a scam.

Officials say people are being targeted with false claims about neglected jury duty in federal court.

According to a release, callers have identified themselves as court administrators and members of law enforcement, telling people that a warrant has been issued for their arrest for failing to report to jury duty.

The caller then provides instructions on how to make a payment to avoid being arrested.

Court officials would never attempt to collect money this way.

Any financial requests made this way should not be paid.

If you receive one of these calls, you are asked to report it by calling 412-644-6628.
