Authorities: Carjacker crashes in Penn Hills after trying to steal cars from Allegheny County sheriff's deputy, Pittsburgh police officer

Off-duty officers pulled guns on carjacking suspect, who fled from scene in East Liberty after 4th attempt, authorities say

Watch video from Sky 4 over the carjacking scene in the video player above.

The incident began in the 500 block of North Highland Avenue in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood, across the street from Obama Academy.

Chief Deputy Kevin Kraus said the suspect first tried to carjack the deputy, who pulled out a gun, and then attempted to steal a car from the police officer, who also pulled a gun on her.

After a third carjacking attempt also proved unsuccessful, the woman finally did steal a vehicle and later crashed on Graham Boulevard in Penn Hills, Kraus said.

The suspect's name and condition were not immediately available.
