Flame Weeding

Has anyone here used a flame weeder to keep down weeds?

I purchased and used one today on a bed that is very difficult to weed, and that has a million small weed emerging.

I had hubby move the tank and I went, and he also kept an eye out for hot spots.  It worked very well, but I will get some sort of a small dolly to move the tank around the next time I use it.  The weeds shriveled right down but I was worried about getting too close to the perennials in that bed.  Along the split rail fence where I have a row of odd rocks under it, it was amazing, and I think next year it will prove to be a huge help.

We'll test it out this winter to melt ice.  Apparently you can start a charcoal fire in less than a minute also. Any other good uses for it?

I can see the need for leather shoes, non-flammable jeans, a helper, a hose nearby, and doing it after a good rain. Any other no-no's?
