Granger, Loretta.jpg
Loretta M (Bundy, Guthrie) Granger went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 25, 2019.  Her life began on a little farm in Sabula, PA on June 20, 1927.  Her journey was to span over 92 years.

Along this journey Loretta's life had a profound impact on the lives of many people. From the very youngest to the oldest all felt the loving touch of a gentle and caring heart.

Loretta was the third of eight children born to Merritt and Susie (Spicher) Bundy. The Christian values of love of God and family, hard work and serving others were deeply instilled and lasted a lifetime.  Her educational journey was to begin in a one room schoolhouse on Boone Mountain and culminated with her earning an LPN certificate at the age of 53.

Loretta was married to the late Howard Guthrie for 35 years. They had two children. Susan (Guthrie) Butler and Norman Guthrie.  She was then married to Charles Granger who preceded her in death.

Over the years she was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in DuBois, PA during WWII, WT Grant's and Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA.

Along with Loretta's love of family was her love for her Lord Jesus Christ.  She loved to tell of her life changing experience of knowing Jesus personally.  She participated in the founding of Tri-County Church and in the beginning, it met in her living room.  For the past number of years, she was an active member of Treasure Lake Church.  She was known by many as a 'prayer warrior' and was an active participant in numerous Bible studies.  She started each day with reading her Bible and praying.

Her life journey ended at the DuBois Nursing Home after a 14-month residency. The staff there provided kind and loving care.  This was not the end however, of Loretta Granger's journey. This was only the beginning!  Today she is in the very presence of her Lord and there she will be for eternity. There is nothing that would please her more than one day to meet her loved ones in Heaven.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Merritt and Susie Bundy, brothers Cecil, Lewis, Wesley (Marc) and sisters Mabel Carlson, Mary Jane Showers and brother-in-law Elwood Carlson.  Loretta is survived by her two children Susan (Guthrie) Butler (Tom) of Urbana, OH, Norman Guthrie (Kathy) of DuBois, brother Allen Bundy (Bernice) of DuBois, Jessie Patchell (Don) of Reynoldsville, sisters-in-law Patty Bundy of DuBois, Barb Kuhn of Binghamton, NY and Debbie Bundy of North Port, FL, and brother-in-law Louie Showers of Goshen, IN.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jenny (Butler) Wheeler (Chad) of London, OH, Mandy Butler of Newark, OH, Sean Guthrie of Collierville, TN and four great grandchildren, Cody and Dallas Wheeler and Mollie and Olivia Guthrie.  There are multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and a vast number of friends who cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29,2019 from 3-5 PM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 30,2019 at the Treasure Lake Church, DuBois.  Visitation will be from 10-11:30 AM followed by the funeral service with Pastor Dick Whitaker and Pastor Robert Cappel co-officiating.  A luncheon will be served after the service and then  an Interment service will take place at the Bundy Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Treasure Lake Church, 226 Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA 15801 and / or the DuBois Nursing Home, 282 South Eight Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
