Gardening is a delight on its own, but it's truly wonderful to see hummingbirds zipping around and enjoying the nectar from your flowers. Hummingbirds are beloved by gardeners, not only for their cuteness, but because they're highly adept pollinators as well.

Hummingbird feeders provide readily available nectar for the birds, so that they don't have to expend energy searching for it. The best hummingbird feeders are those that allow for easy access to these birds to feed, while keeping squirrels, bugs and other birds out. Experts also recommend getting hummingbird feeders that are red in color, as this helps attract the birds — just avoid coloring the nectar itself with red dye. Making your own hummingbird nectar at home is easy, and all you need is sugar and water.

Enjoy the bird watching scene from your window all season long by treating yourself (and your garden) one of these 10 hummingbird feeders.

I began using organic cane sugar for my hummingbirds.  A long time ago there was a problem that was blamed on Organic Cane Sugar but it was eventually ruled out. I'm watching to see if our little ones seem to like it as much.  Just don't feed them Kool Aid or other chemical laden liquids.

I make their food and fill the feeder about half.  The rest of the food goes into the fridge for the next time.
