police.jpgHUSTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a driver that was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Huston Township, Clearfield County, on Monday morning has been identified.

According to police, around 7:41 a.m. on Monday, June 29, a hit-and-run crash occurred on State Park Road at its intersection with Bennetts Valley Highway in Huston Township, Clearfield County.

Police say 23-year-old David E. Lee, of Olean, New York, was operating a 2011 Kia, traveling north on State Park Road approaching a stoplight at the intersection with Bennetts Valley Highway, when he became distracted and proceeded through a red light. The vehicle’s right front end then struck the left front end of a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by 23-year-old Robert R. Shetley, of Saint Marys.

According to police, Lee then continued to travel north and did not stop at the scene of the crash.

Shetley contacted DuBois-based State Police to report the crash.

Ridgway-based State Police subsequently stopped a vehicle matching the description of the Kia and determined it was the vehicle involved in the crash.

Shetley, Lee, and Lee’s passengers, 23-year-old Dominique A. Croyle, of Olean, 21-year-old Allie A. Taylor, of Olean, and 23-year-old Isaac D. Hilyer, of Olean, were all wearing seatbelts, and an infant passenger in Lee’s vehicle was buckled in a rear-facing child safety seat.

No injuries were reported.

Lee was cited for a traffic violation.
