police.jpgSANDY TWP., CLEARFIELD CO., Pa. (EYT) – Police have released the details of a crash that occurred recently on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, around 4:07 p.m. on July 11, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 80 eastbound in Sandy Township.

Police say 30-year-old Ryan R. Thacher, of New York, New York, was operating a 2015 Range Rover Land Rover, traveling in the right lane of Interstate 80 eastbound when a sudden and significant rainfall began. The driver of the vehicle then attempted to change into the left travel lane and began to hydroplane.

According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the north side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle then spun 180 degrees and came to a final rest facing west on the northern shoulder of the roadway.

Thacher and his passenger, 28-year-old Paige A. Thacher, of New York, New York, were both wearing seat belts and no injures were reported.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage from the crash.

PSP DuBois released the above report on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
