Karen D. Holdren, Age 52 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born on April 23, 1968 in Sharon, PA, she was the daughter of Anthony “Tony” & Margaret (Remigio) Direnzo.  Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives and lives in Sharon, PA.

On October 7, 1995, she married Todd M. Holdren.  He survives.

Karen was a graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School and Slippery Rock University.

She was very active at DuBois Central Catholic as it was a big part of her life.  She worked in the after-school program for many years and frequently was a substitute teacher for all grades.  Karen was also very involved with various committees, fundraisers, and school activities.

She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and loved to vacation in Ocean City, MD.

She is survived by her children (Lauren, Hannah, and Anthony Holdren, all of DuBois, PA) and a brother (Stephen Direnzo of Sharon, PA).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.

Social distancing requirements will be followed and masks must be worn.  Due to attendance regulations, we ask that you keep your visit brief to allow others to pay their respects.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1 p.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery

Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests that you make a memorial in Karen’s memory to DuBois Central Catholic, P.O. Box 567, DuBois, PA 15801.
