Albert C. “Curley” Guilyard, age 95 of DuBois, PA died Friday, February 26, 2021, at his home.

 

Born on February 9, 1926, in Kramer, PA he was the son of the late Joseph & Rachel (Grock) Guilyard.

 

Curley was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the European Theatre of World War II. He was awarded Bronze Battle Stars and the Purple Heart

 

On August 20, 1955, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in DuBois, PA he married his wife of 65 years, Wilma (Betros) Guilyard.  She survives.

 

Curley worked at Ideal Products Inc in DuBois for 39 ½ years.  He then worked another 5 years at International Custom Products.

 

Curley was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church for over 65 years.  He served as a longtime usher and had also served on church council, was a money counter, and attended mass daily after his retirement.  He and his wife Wilma served funeral masses at St. Catherine’s for over 30 years.

He loved to dance and devoted much of his time in taking care of his cars and keeping his garage clean. Curley loved to garden and share his harvest with his friends and neighbors. He was also a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother (William Guilyard).

 

He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers (Louis & Raymond Guilyard) and his 2 sisters (Theresa Serian & Jean Cretti).

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Social distancing requirements will be followed and masks are required. We ask that you keep your visit brief to allow everyone to pay their respects.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as the celebrant.

 

The mass will be livestreamed and can be viewed by going to www.facebook.com/duboisromancatholicchurches.

 

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.

 

Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia, PA.

 

Memorials may be placed with St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 118 S. State St., DuBois, PA 15801.
