Sigel, PA – The Sigel Volunteer Fire Department was able to stop a garage fire on Easter from spreading to a nearby home.

Around 4:48 p.m. on Sunday, crews were alerted of the garage fire. It’s not specified exactly where the fire was.

The fire was under control within 40 minutes with help from the Sigel, Brookville, Corsica, Pinecreek, and Farmington fire companies along with Jefferson County EMS and Jefferson County 911.

Crews stayed on scene to put out hot spots after.

Thank you to all of our hardworking fire departments for making sure that garage fire did not spread to houses nearby.

According to the Sigel Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook post:

At 16:48 pm we were alerted for Fire Box 19W, a garage fire with a residential exposure close by.
Chief 19 arrived on scene and advised a working fire. Mutual aid was received from Stations 2, 3, 10 and Clarion 540. Engine Rescue 2 laid approx 500 feet of 5″ up a narrow driveway and pulled a handline to begin the initial attack. Engine Rescue 3 arrived and set up supply to ER2. Additional manpower from all the volunteer fire departments had their personnel on scene doing various tasks to put out the fire and ensure the residence wasn’t involved. The fire was under control within 40 minutes and there was an extensive mop up to put out the hot spots.
We would like to say Thank You to Brookville Station 2, Corsica Station 3, Pinecreek Station 10, Farmington Township Station 540, JCEMS and Jefferson County 911 for there assistance.
