Bon
I bought 3, pink, red & white. The white one still has not grown yet. Still the size of when I planted it. I'm sure it will grow soon, you can see stuby in the lower left corner of the pic. The Pink and Reddish colored ones have bloomed in the last few days. I just remembered to take a pic today. Petee
Do you ever keep them over for the next year? That's when I have a problem.
Bon
Do you ever keep them over for the next year? That's when I have a problem. Yeah, but I don't store them. I let them die down, trim them to about 2-3" above bulb, don't water for a month, then start watering. I have gotten mine to bloom 4 times a year. Petee
You have the magic touch! I kill them or they never bloom again so I give them away.
Bon
Well I killed the red one!!! I had a fly strip by the plant, had lots of little like fruit flies coming out of the bulb. The flower touched the strip and they died plus the new flower shoot that was growing. Don't know if it will grow again, but I am going to try. I will not have it near the strip again!! Petee
MIght be this critter http://ipm.ncsu.edu/AG136/fly4.html but if you want to be sure then save me a sample and the Master Gardeners will have something to practice diagnosing. We have a great microscope but it's no fun looking at dust!
