    Riots in Minneapolis

I just want to know how all these people expect respect when they are clearly disrespecting their community. I understand a man died in police custody. I also get that justice has to be served where it’s deserved. But seriously. Acting like a bunch of idiots will not get u heard. Your making yourselves look just like a lot of people are saying. So if u want respect and to be heard stop the stupid childish crap and act like true citizens and let ur voice be heard in a positive way.

    Riots in Minneapolis

And how many people or businesses did the armed protesters attack? But yet the protesters in MN went beyond protesting and starting looting businesses that had NOTHING to do with the issue at hand.

Just more of the "new normal" that we are being forced to accept. For the record, I don't blame the organizers--they, as well as everyone else that is cancelling events, are in a very difficult spot to be in. I likely would have made the same choice. Not only do they have to be concerned about legality and expense--they also have to worry about some moron showing up and spewing "sewage" around if said moron is opposed to fairs--or worse.......morons are now the reason we can't have nice things.

    Riots in Minneapolis

It’s always bad if a black person gets killed but they don’t care about the white people that die the same way. U ask me if a human dies in police custody then an investigation needs to be done and depending the findings then charges need to be filed. It shouldn’t matter ur race. Ur not going to get respect by acting the fool. I know this first hand. The question of why really isn’t answered. I’m sorry but if this happened here I expect every business owner to be strapped and fire at will when people are trying to steal from them.. nobody has the right to take away from anyones livelihood.

    Riots in Minneapolis

Its time to call in the 82nd Airborne to back up police for Minneapolis. That's not a joke. The mayor folded. The Governor was failure tonight. George Soros bought and paid for ANTIFA starting trouble. Heck even the National Office of CNN got attacked in Atlanta.

    Covid-19 and New Children's Disease

Looks like an allergic reaction. Bet they gave the child something to reduce fever or for pain. I've seen a similar reactions to measles a very long time ago. The human body sometimes reacts oddly to its own immunological system. But of course it was the virus from hell.

Meanwhile we are pushing rolloff containers full of respirator hoses, masks, gloves, etc... Luckily the distance from the seat of a D8 to the front of the blade is more like 15ft, so we’re all good

I smiled when I saw the ducks and St. Pauli girl. When I ride by Lumberjacks in Ridgway (now Wilderness something or other) I think it should have been built where the Halton Hilton sits. The second story deck on Lumberjacks would provide a beautiful view of the Clarion. Its not uncommon nowadays to see the bald eagles flying the river. On a real good day they have the day's meal in tow.

"Ridgway-based State Police say a known victim lost his a loaded pistol, his cell phone, and his wallet at a location on the Clarion River approximately 100 yards south of the Halton Hilton in Sigel, in Spring Creek Township" A few too many at the Hilton to be duffing it in that stretch of water. Speaking of the Halton Hilton the new owners did a real nice job of cleaning it up. They did a nice amount of business before the shutdown.

I usually have a gun with me when I'm on the river, most of the time in a holster on my belt. But if the river is rough, I have it in a ziplock bag that I blow air into before sealing. Same for wallet, keys, and phone. Those ziplocks are usually put in a backpack or similar bag, which then I tie a lanyard to the kayak.

Crap happens. It isn't uncommon to lose stuff after overturning on the river. I'm sure a diver could find scores of guns, wallets, cellphones, and other lost items on that river.

Everything from now on it going to be "linked" to Covid. This video just proves they have no idea what these kids have and have no idea if it's due to Covid.
  23. 1 point
The doctor specifically said they haven't established the link. The only link I heard there was that she tested for the antibodies--and yet they put a sign on that child stating she beat covid? The only definitive link I see is the timing of this during covid. This is nearly two weeks old, and the first I've heard of this.

    Riots in Minneapolis

To be clear, then you are FOR rioting and destruction of businesses/buildings that have no relation to racism or this case in particular? Minneapolis evolved far away from a protest. Michigan never came close to a riot. Although, I absolutely agree with you about the Michigan protesters with guns...made zero sense.

This is Clearfield County and there is no magical fairy dust that makes it suddenly ok to venture out of the cave when we reach a certain date on a calendar, nor when the clock strikes a certain time. One week early and someone is going over the deep end delivering sewage to an eating establishment. That is ludicrous. Again, that local business was not forcing a single soul to enter their establishment. I'd bet some people spent less time in there than some do in WalMart--but we are all ok with WalMart and Lowes having never been shuttered. If you choose to not go in a business because you don't like their practices--fine. Great, even. You do you. If you believe anyone that patronized their business when they opened prior to the magic dust being applied were scallywags--do yourself a favor and ask everyone you come in contact with if they ate there one week early and isolate yourself from them. That should clearly solve the problem. The death rate as of May 8, 2020 was listed at 1.3% of the population. Those numbers include many people that had comorbidities that could have been the actual cause of death. Then let's consider that the great poobah and staff forced LTC facilities to accept patients that were known to be positive---to places where the most vulnerable of people live. (And removed their loved ones from similar situations to keep them healthy...) Did you know that a large portion of the elderly are registered republicans? Smells of a little genocide.... and we got to bump up the death toll to make it seem more scary.... and we put a bounty on covid deaths to convince health care facilities to denote covid as the cause of death regardless of that kick in the head by a horse--maybe the horse's name was Covid-19---only way that was accurate---because let's face it, money talks.

Necco Wafers candies make a sweet comeback after 2-year absence After the New England Confectionery Company went bankrupt in 2018, all seemed lost until Spangler Candy stepped up to the plate. Necco Wafers candyGetty Images May 27, 2020, 1:16 PM PDT / Source: TODAY By Randee Dawn If you've been craving the classic candy known as Necco Wafers, for the past two years, you've been out of luck. Amazon doesn't have them. Ebay might — for a price — but bear in mind that any rolls would be at least two years old. Soon, that's about to change. This week, in an exclusive interview with TODAY Food, Kirk Vashaw, the chairman and CEO of Spangler Candy, revealed that fresh rolls of Necco Wafers are set to hit store shelves in just a few days. The candies come in eight distinct flavors; only the chocolate one might seem a bit different.Courtesy of Spangler Candy "We've always admired the brand and how it's woven in with the fabric of our culture," Vashaw said. "It's neat to be eating a candy that was carried by Civil War soldiers, and taken on Arctic and Antarctic expeditions, and issued to GIs in World War II as a morale booster. It's a piece of our history." He's right: Necco Wafers (the name is an acronym for the company that created the candies in 1847, the New England Confectionery Company) are a long-lasting, old-fashioned treat that's been around for a very, very long time. Smarties: Meet the sisters who keep the candy rolling FEB. 6, 202003: A wax paper-wrapped roll of the disc-shaped candies comes in a mix of eight flavors (lemon, lime, orange, clove, cinnamon, wintergreen, licorice and chocolate). Previously, all-chocolate rolls have been sold, but are not currently being manufactured. The candies have proved both durable (they won't melt and travel well) and versatile: Vashaw said kids have used them as shingles on gingerbread houses, adults have used them as poker chips and even young Catholic worshippers have used them to practice taking communion. But the Necco factory hit hard times a few years ago and shuttered abruptly in mid-2018. Assets were auctioned off and Vashaw's Spangler Candy (home to sweets like Dum-Dums lollipops and Circus Peanuts) snapped up several classic Necco brands, including the eponymous wafers and Sweethearts (which returned this year for Valentine's Day). The company also bought up some of the key equipment used to make Neccos and are currently producing the candies at a facility in Mexico. Spangler Candy wanted everything to remain as close to the original as possible, down to the wax paper wrapping.Courtesy of Spangler Candy Fans of the classic recipe will be relieved as Vashaw confirmed that the formula has remained the same. The packaging is the same, too. "We kept the wax wrap around the roll exactly the same," said Vashaw, "and used the same supplier and everything." There might be a slight difference in taste with the chocolate wafer, though. "Connoisseurs may notice a slightly richer taste to the cocoa," he explained. "It's the same flavor, but we use a slightly different process. To our palate, it brings out the flavor a bit differently." But there was no plan to "improve" on what already, for fans, is perfection. "Candy is a simple joy in life and it's a simple reward," said Vashaw. "People want the same thing they remember as a kid. That's the beauty of candy — nostalgia." Related FOOD Sweethearts candies have returned with some not-so-sweet changes Bringing a famous candy back to market during the COVID-19 pandemic has presented some challenges, said a company spokesperson, but Spangler is enforcing social distancing at its Mexican factory. Employees must also submit to temperature checks and are required to wear face coverings. "Given the layout of the production lines, most employees are able to easily maintain distance from each other and, in the few places where that is difficult, we have installed barriers," added the spokesperson. Drugstores and pharmacies nationwide are expected to start getting fresh Necco Wafers by the end of this month or early June. The company expects shipments to other stores will arrive in July. That's great news for fanatical Necco lovers, who will apparently do anything to seek out the beloved discs — something Vashaw discovered personally. "I was at a candy conference last fall, and someone drove for miles, all the way there, and sought me out to specifically ask about Necco Wafers," he said, adding, "We're running as fast as we can and hope to keep up with demand this summer." When we go over the mountain to visit Grice's I always look forward to stopping in Billies for a wonderful meal and great service. The waitresses always make you feel like a regular and trust me you never leave hungry. Definitely will stop in next time I'm over that way!

Back to the subject. I deal with the owners of Billy’s and I can tell you this is not a decision they made in hast. Other restaurants in Clearfield got together and discuss it and decided to open while following CDC guild lines. They were already doing take outs which had people in the building. They set up the dining area for proper distancing. They are using disposable wares. Basically the only difference is people can sit 6 feet apart to eat instead of standing six feet apart to pick up food. As a business owner they made a decision to save their restaurant and employees. If you don’t want to support them then don’t it is your choice. I personally think I would feel safer there than Walmart or Hobbie Lobby. Yes they went against Wolfe’s orders but so did Dr Lavine when she removed her mother from a nursing home during the outbreak. I find it very difficult to follow orders from someone the seems to have a personal agenda.
