I was at Kellogg's corporate the other day.  I watched a woman, sitting it her desk, vaping with the thickest cloud of smoke.  Although shocked, I didn't pass up the opportunity to say, "That's Grrreat!"  (Ya see, Kellogg's biggest brand is Frosted Flakes).  It earned me a medium height-5.

I watched Chicago Med last night.  A girl had stopped breathing because of vaping.  It was very scary.  The doctor said she may breath on her own, but she may never breath on her own again.  This is a serious problem, and I don't think people take it serious enough.

WEDNESDAY, Jan. 22, 2020 (HealthDay News) -- Vaping has been deemed hazardous for your health by public officials across America, but you wouldn't know it by scrolling through Instagram.
Instead, researchers discovered that Instagram posts that promote use of the devices outnumber anti-vaping content by a shocking ratio of 10,000 to 1.
Nearly one-third of U.S. teens use e-cigarettes. In 2018, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration launched a campaign to discourage vaping among youth, according to authors of the study published Jan. 22 in the journal Frontiers in Communication.
"U.S. public health officials have been calling vaping among youth an epidemic and have been putting a lot of effort into trying to stop this epidemic by introducing #TheRealCost anti-vaping campaign," said researcher Julia Vassey, from the University of California, Berkeley.
"But this stark imbalance in the volume of posts has caused the FDA message to be overwhelmed by marketing from the vaping brands," she said in a journal news release.
Vassey and her colleagues analyzed nearly 246,000 Instagram posts from before and after the #TheRealCost campaign launch, and interviewed five vaping influencers and eight college-age social media users.
"We focused on Instagram because the vaping influencers we interviewed for this study identified Instagram as their most important social media marketing platform," Vassey said.
"Based on the results, the FDA anti-vaping campaign is not very popular and we saw Instagram user comments disputing the FDA claims of damaging health effects from nicotine and calling the campaign propaganda," she said.
Vaping posts received nearly three times more "likes" after the launch of the FDA campaign launch, and there were six times as many vaping posts that had more than 100 likes.
The vaping influencers and social media users told the researchers that the FDA's anti-vaping campaign promoted scare tactics rather than offering guidance on how to quit vaping.
"We're hoping the findings will inform public health regulators about the most popular channels used by vaping influencers to promote vaping content among underage population in order to help counter e-cigarette marketing and slow vaping proliferation among youth," Vassey said.
"This study could also contribute to providing direction for future federal and local public health anti-vaping intervention campaigns," she said.

You get a better deal if you are in a contract(2 years),  than just being on a plan.
I just called for my mom a couple weeks ago and she added internet with her cable/phone plan for a better price.

So then we decided to get rid of her 2 extra boxes and replace them with Roku's. Her one extra TV is a Roku TV and the other we bought a $30 Roku device for that one. Roku is the only device that is capable of using the Xfinity App. The Xfinity app lets you STREAM the exact same channels that you have on your regular cable plan. So if you have extra boxes and you are looking to save money, in the long run it would be better if you get a roku device or 2 to replace your extra boxes.
We went with the 2 year contract and saved $600 for the 2 years. ($35 per month the first year and $15 per month  the second.) which is a savings average of $25 per month for the 2 years.

Pompeii reacted to Keyser Soze in Peacock Streaming Service
Comcast.Corp.’s NBCUniversal unveiled a multitiered pricing strategy for its new Peacock streaming service, including free and subscription options, as the media giant looks to undercut rivals and set its offering apart in a crowded field.
Peacock will cost $4.99 a month with commercials and $9.99 for an ad-free version. The new service will be available April 15 for Comcast customers and July 15 for everyone else, NBCUniversal said Thursday.
Peacock’s Premium tier will have some 15,000 hours of programming, including originals featuring stars such as Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore, NBC broadcast series and reruns of “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation." A free version with ads will have a slimmer offering of content and only have select episodes of original programming.
Customers of Comcast and cable operator Cox Communications Inc. will be able to access the ad-supported Premium option at no charge—amounting to some 24 million potential users—and can upgrade to the ad-free option for $5 a month if they choose. Comcast said it would look for more opportunities to bundle its service with partners and make it available free of charge. The company is targeting between 30 million and 35 million active accounts by 2024.
Comcast will be playing catch up in the streaming fight. In November, Walt Disney Co.launched Disney+ for $6.99 a month, while Apple Inc. launched its own $4.99 a month offering with a smaller selection of programs. That added to the existing options in a market that includes industry leader Netflix Inc., Hulu,  Amazon.com Inc.’s Prime Video and CBS All Access. AT&T Inc.’s HBO Max, priced at $14.99 a month, is expected to launch in May.

I'm thinking about starting a new club since our local cable & internet prices are getting way out of hand.
I've noticed in the last 6 months, there has been numerous topics on what everyone is doing for their TV channels & internet. This club will keep all of those topics in one place instead of all over the Message Place.
The Cable Cutters Club will help everyone decide on what steps to take to bring those crazy prices down or possibly use streaming for their main TV channels.
What's the best ???? .... Hulu? Sling? Youtube? Fubu? Philo? At&t TV? Playstation Vue?
If you are interested in this new club, please reply or just give me a thumbs up or like.
If you are a PRO at this topic and would like to help out .. let me know by message: http://www.godubois.com/index.php?/messenger/compose/&to=1
