I hope they have people to enforce these laws. Last year, I made several calls and nothing was done for the dog that has been tied outside 24 hours a day for the past five or more years. 25 below zero or 100 degrees.....there he is. NEVER off the rope. Ever.

He just had worm meds a few days ago. Whoever had him before my friend found him needs a kick in the pants!!!!!!! He must have been an inside kitten before she found him because he is very sweet and playful. Thanks, Bon!

We recently adopted a kitten. He is about 8 weeks old. The girl who gave it to us said her vet had wormed it. (Which I do believe!). My question is.....how long does it take for worm meds to take effect? We have noticed a few little rice looking pieces by his tail. (I only noticed this an hour ago. Let me just say.....gag. ) Does this mean that the medicine is working? He has his own litter box, so my other two are not using the same box. I have an appointment this week with the vet, but I am a little freaked out. Any advice from cat owners out there? Thanks!

Thanks Petee! I had several of these in my crabapple trees this year. I was able to cut them out and the kids and I check regularly for more. I did not want to use a pesticide because I have bird feeders in the trees.

That was on my 3rd birthday. My mom has pictures of people in canoes on the boulevard!

I bought a powder at Hanzely's nursery. Those little buggers were eating the roots of my bushes and they didn't grow for a year or two. Yikes. I sprinkled some of that powder in the dirt and haven't had a problem since. It is supposed to last 6 or 7 years too, I think. Good luck. P.S. Maybe dig them up for fishing bait? lol

I have a question for our resident gardeners about dahlia bulbs..... When is the best time to plant these bulbs and how do I go about it? Do I put them in little pots and then transplant? Do I wait until spring? My mom and I both have bulbs from last year, but we have no idea when to plant or what the heck to do with them! Help! Thanks in advance for any tips you might have!

It doesn't leave them any slicker than Murphys Oil Soap or Old English. It soaks in and they look nice and clean...with the bonus of a nice smell. My mom used it to remove tar from her vehicle when she went on a road that was tarred and chipped.

What kind of things do you use Skin So Soft (from Avon) for? I use it as a bug repellent and to clean my wooden cupboards. It leaves them shiny and has a great smell. Anyone else?

What about the bulbs for dahlias? I dug mine out of the pots and put them in a paper bag. Should I have planted them for next year? And when I do plant them, do I plant one bulb per hole and how far apart? This bulb thing is all new to me!
