I must have removed 2 dozen ticks from our outside cat in the last 2 weeks. I can't keep him out of the woods, he loves chipmunks.
Anyone know if they make chipmunk flavored cat food?

I guess Mr Woodpecker wanted to make sure we cut the tree down this year. The holes weren't there last night.

My hubby woke me up around 5:30-5:45ish to say we have  a big bull under the apple tree. He still has velvet coming off his antlers on his left side. The pics aren't real good and I was not steady at all, but you can see him.

Update:  All seems well this morning. He's up to his normal shenigans. Let him out, chased him off the deck, He peed and  I called him in, so he ran away, so I waited a few min, then he came in, I know he pooped during the night, because I stepped in it, . My kleenex was all ripped apart on the carpet, and my bra was lying in the hallway. He ate and drank. I'm glad he's feeling better. thanks for all your concern and advise everyone!

We went through this 5 years ago with my 16 YO shih tzu.  My husband told me she would let us know when it is time and she did.  One day she look at me with very sad eyes and her tail was down, her look told us it was time, she was tired and her pain was getting worse.  It was one of the hardest things I ever did but I did not want her to suffer anymore.  She always gave us joy so we wanted to give her peace at the end.

Can I ask what is wrong with your pet?
When you know in your heart that the animal is suffering....or will not get better and is in pain..
Please don't keep it alive just for you...many do, and it's not fair to the animal to suffer just to stay with you...and they do try to stay alive for their human...

It was most assuredly not an easy decision for us to put our little one down.  We did all we could; took her to the vet, ran the tests, etc. But, in the end, they couldn't save her, the infection in her eye was too much.  She had no chance at retaining it, and the infection had spread too far.  They said they could have taken the eyes, and we could have had her still for many years; but, what type of life would that have left her with.  Not worth it for her.  She was already in so much pain, always curled up, and moaning.  We opted to put her to sleep, and I let her fall asleep in my arms.  Wasn't easy, but was the most humane thing we could do.

I agree, if, at this point, you have to ask, chances are you already know.

For some reason the peppers realy took off this year. I have tons. here is one of them. Don't mind the floor I am remodeling and ripping up the carpets and some of the sub floor to make it flat and putting down bamboo.

The blurry one is of the heron in flight I couldn't keep up with the camera and focus. Top left you can make out out his feet and tail. The fawn was in the neighbors yard eating apples.

Don't let a flowering plant set seed unless you want it to spread.  If it's a bulb then snip off just the flower and it's stem.  Once the leaves are dead then chop to the ground.  The leaves are still providing food to the bulb as long as they are green.  It's actually getting the bulb "fat" and ready to flower next year.  You only braid or bundle leaves if you're bored and want to imtimidate the neighbors. :-)
