Yes you could do it for a lot less, but maybe some are seeing if they would actually LIKE to do it. To me chickens are a lot less bother of a farm animal then most .. we raised them when I was a kid through early 20's. My job was to water, feed, & collect the eggs before school. Then in the evening because my brothers always seemed to get out of their part of the chicken chores, I went back and redid all that stuff. The only time they didn't get away with it was when our step father was home. On weekends, we cleaned the chicken coop.  In the winter, although chickens lay less, we still had to keeps heat lamps on and make sure their water was not frozen. Chickens are educational, and we learned a lot from raising them. BUT what do I know, I'm just a country bumpkin who is a  f***ing moron who doesn't know anything!!!

I'd rather rent a bunny. I prefer chocolate eggs, especially this time of year. Those creamy peanut butter ones are especially good.

This is making me cry.  I have two rescues (evil cats though lol) and if I could have more I definitely would! My Diamond and Logan are such joy bringers to all of us. Diamond is our Momma cat. She takes care of us and Logan is the idiot grown kitten who just makes us laugh.  Do not ever hesitate to adopt. Companion for life!

Dogs are the best. Except mine. He's a pain in the butt. I recently renamed him In And Out.
 
And I just typed this silliness to keep this post alive.

I found these pictures floating around on the web and had to share them. I grew up with a dog who was abandoned and dropped off at a shelter. He had many problems, so much so that it is highly doubtful that another family would have taken him in. He would have been euthanized.

We've had three rescue beagles.  First two were older that only had a few years of life left with us.  Current beagle is quite the dog and only 5, so she'll be around for a while.

One of ours is a stray that adopted us. The other is a rescue that was abused. They definitely have issues, but I can't imagine what they went through before we got them. They are really loved (spoiled) now. I would take more if we could, but not in the budget.

My next dog will be a rescue. But for now................
