The library?!?! That must have been the shortened "straight-line" route when cruising was starting to flatline.
Back in the early- to mid-80's, it was out of McDonald's with a right at Park, down to Shankel's and left up through town. Of course, that was when there were actually a few things, other than old-age homes, still in the downtown area.

This is when people actually would stop and hang out with one another instead of just looking at a screen all the time. I used to love the cruise and the vehicles. The sound systems were amazing in some of those cars. I miss the way it used to be!!

Over the years the cruising loop got shortened a lot.  In the early 60's we traveled Long Ave, Brady St/Boulevard/B-Line and back again.  One end was at Bailey's with the other at the rear of the old train station on Franklin St, now the Cherry Law offices.  Far fewer traffic lights to contend with in those days.  I'm not sure there was a traffic light from one end of the Boulevard to the other.  The drag races across there were interesting as well as those from Bailey's going either direction.  The interstate was just being built so the traffic on 255 was much lighter in those days.   Different times, maybe not all for the better.
Apologies for the digression from the original topic and the trip down memory lane.

I remember the car that pulled out of McDonald’s and went through the wall at Rockwell. And another hit something that was in front of the plant managers house that was beside Rockwell.

Well, that couldn't possibly have been quicker.  He has found a home.  Thank you.

I know some are upset by it only being a $12k fine, but please remember that fine is only what is being paid to a government agency.  That is not intended to place a dollar value on the life lost.  Hopefully this will set a precedent so that it doesn't happen again and that Mr. Pierce's family is able to pursue a settlement that will allow them to at least be a little more comfortable while they attempt to heal their hearts from their tragic loss.

Also, when I get the notification box that someone has replied to the thread, when I click on the link in it to see the post, it does nothing. I usually have to go up and refresh the page manually to see the latest post.
Still, I consider that to be a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. I think, as a whole, it's been a much easier transition than what I first envisioned.

I still have mine in the brooder. Both of my grow out pens are occupied, but one will be vacated this weekend when my Mexican friend takes some roosters off my hands

This black rooster has better color than my blue. That copper in his saddle will keep getting longer, and his overall color will be a nice mix of black and copper. His hackles "neck" are a good mix, and there are no straw colored feathers. His eyes are bright, and he has a really nice uniform comb.
The things I want to improve on him are mostly about his body type. He's a long, lean bird. His back and neck are a little too long, chest is a little thin. You want them to be a little more thick
 
Ok, here's the blue with pretty much opposite qualities:
 

 
His body type is almost perfect. He's a little more compact, nice full chest, holds his tail at the perfect angle. He has the prettiest eyes of any rooster I've ever had, and his foot feathering is exceptional.
His drawback is his color. Almost no copper in the saddle, and you can see the halo in his neck. That's more common on the blues because of the lighter feather color, but still could be improved.
 
I will keep the best birds from each of these pens, then cross them to each other to see what produces the best results
