  1. Allene “Joan” Lott, age 88 of Troutville, PA died Monday, March 27, 2023 at her home. Born on October 12, 1934 in Troutville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Vera (Ellinger) Shepler. Joan was a 1953 graduate of the DuBois Area High School. On June 27, 1953 she married Miles C. Lott. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2016. Joan had worked in a retail store, and in a shoe factory. She was also a bookkeeper and a demonstrator for Stanley Home Products for many years. She also played accordion and piano professionally. Joan was a member of a few different dance bands, playing for square dances around the area, and also played many polkas and slow dances. Apart from playing music, Joan also loved socializing with relatives and friends, and shopping and traveling with Miles. Joan is survived by her children; Miles Lott, Jr. and his wife Debra and Susan Wyant and her husband Raymond, three grandchildren; Jason Shimmel and his wife Dana, Kaitlin Shimmel Wyant and her husband Raymond, Jr. and Monetta Salyers and her husband Ryan, nine great grandchildren, siblings; Howard Shepler and his wife Thelma and Naomi Pifer and her husband Edward, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by six siblings; Jack, Mary, Willovene, Mabel, Imogene and Roy. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., and Friday March 31, 2023 from 10 – 10:45 AM at Trouville Trinity United Church of Christ. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM from the church with Pastor Donna Jarrell and Pastor Barry Fillman co-officiating. Burial will follow in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.   2. Charlotte A. (Gilbert) Wachob, age 81 of Troutville, PA died Monday, March 27, 2023 at Punxsutawney Hospital. Born on June 8, 1941 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Shaffer Gilbert. On July 23, 1960 she married John E. “Jack” “Pap” Wachob at Salem United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2016. Charlotte was a homemaker and had previously worked as a waitress at the Bobette. Charlotte was always on the go. She took great joy in visiting with her family and friends. She loved her flower garden, doing puzzles and making her strawberry jelly and her famous fudge. Charlotte is survived by four daughters; (Pam (Manny) Klaiber of DuBois, PA, Connie (Bill) Johnston of Troutville, PA, Bonnie Gray and her companion Brian of Wharton, PA, and Jacqueline (Bryan) Haag of Troutville, PA), eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her siblings; (James Gilbert, Shirley Wells, Charles Gilbert, Betty McAninch, Anna Gilbert and Dennis Gilbert). She was also preceded in death by one sister (Marilyn Krach). Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 2 – 4 PM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 PM from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will take place in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.   3. Arthur “Keith” Smith, Sr. age 89 of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 24, 2023 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on June 5, 1933 in Falls Creek, PA, he was the son of the late Fred D. and M. Eileen (Jones) Smith. Keith was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. On November 18, 1955 he married his wife Joyce E. (Hetrick) Smith. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2006. Keith was a 1952 graduate of the Reynoldsville Sykesville High School and a 1956 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. Keith worked as an Account Executive/ Broker for Brockway Glass for 17 years and went on to work for, and retire from Swift Kennedy Insurance after 14 years of service. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois where he was very active in church affairs. He was a member of the Garfield Lodge # 559 Free & Accepted Masons, and the Shrine Club. Keith had a long history with the Jaycees on both the local and state level. He was the recipient of the DuBois Jaycees Distinguished Service Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. Keith served as a member of the Board of Director at the DuBois Nursing Home for many years. He had served the nursing home board as President and had a part in initiating the merger with the DuBois Village to form the DuBois Continuum of Care Community. Keith has also served as President of the Haven House Shelter. Keith is survived by his children; (Deborah Smith and her wife Goli Karimi of Altadena, CA; Keith Smith, Jr. and his wife Sherri of Luthersburg, PA and Cheryl Floyd & her husband Brad of Red Lion, PA), six grandchildren (Dylan, Grant, & Mason Smith, and T.J. & Dustin Floyd & his wife Melissa, and Devon Harbaugh & her husband Seth), six great grandchild, and two sisters; (Janet Guthridge of DuBois, PA and Molly Shaffer of Falls Creek, PA). He was preceded in death by three brothers; (Frederick D. Smith, Jr., James R. Smith and Francis “Sandy” Smith), and one sister (Karen Smith). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with CLP LaMarr Adamson officiating. Burial will take place in Beechwoods Cemetery.   4. David C. Shaffer, age 72 of Rockton, PA died Friday, March 17, 2023 at his home. Born on August 18, 1950 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Vernon and E. Vaughn (Bailey) Shaffer. David retired from Union Township in August of 2020 after many years of service. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid gun and motorcycle collector. David is survived by one sister, (Linda Olewnick and her husband Steve of DuBois, PA), two nieces (Errin Wischhusen and her husband Trevor, and their children Eva and Devan and Jessica McKee and her husband Ben and their son Killian). There will be no public visitation and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will take place in Rockton Cemetery.   5. Donald Eugene Liedl, Sr. , age 89 of Falls Creek, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Christ the King Manor. Born on April 16, 1933 in Reynoldsville, PA, he was the son of the late Henry and Hazel (Smith) Liedl. Don was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Don married his wife Sylvia (Hughes) Liedl on June 9, 1956. She proceeded him in death on March 9, 2020. He was also proceeded in death by his son Henry, granddaughter Amy, brother Bill, and sister Ruth. He graduated from the Reynoldsville High School Class of 1951. Don retired from Collins and Nolder of Falls Creek. Don was an active member of Saint Bernard Roman Catholic Church and Holy Name Society for many years. He was also a member of the Falls Creek Eagles, a 30-year member of the Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and was active in the JCARC and Camp Friendship. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening , and had a passion for hunting ginseng with his friend Parker. He is survived by two sons (Donald of Falls Creek, PA and Douglas of Reynoldsville, PA), three sisters (Mary Hannah of Reynoldsville, PA, and Catherine Johnson and Carol Rokosky, both of DuBois, PA), 6 grandchildren (Megan, Jennifer, Adam, Tim, Bethany, & Beverly) and four great grandchildren (Billy, Allison, Alivia, and Adalynn). Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 10 AM from St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Edward Walk as celebrant.   6. Eva L. Powers, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Monday, March 20, 2023 at the DuBois Village. Born on November 20, 1929 in Akron, OH, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lena (Gearhart) Neilson. In 1948 she married Daniel Powers, Sr. He preceded her in death in 1955. Eva retired as a machinist from Rockwell International Manufacturing after 40 years of service. After her retirement, she worked as a baker at Fezell’s Shop n’ Save for several years. Eva belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brookville, PA. She loved to bake, do puzzles, and play cards. She also loved her daily glass of wine. She is survived by her children (Linda Sauers of Gibsonia, PA, Connie Thiebaud and her husband Tom of Belcamp, MD, Sue Weaver and her husband John of Reynoldsville, PA, Jon Powers and his wife Paula of Brockway, PA), a daughter-in-law (Vicki Powers of Punxsutawney, PA), one brother (George Neilson of DuBois, PA), eighteen grandchildren (Tom (Jennifer) Sauers, Brian (Jessica) Sauers, Wendy (Jeff) McQuillen, Tom (Kelly) Thiebaud, Michelle (Joe) Smith, Lori (Jim) Rake, Jason Marshall, Dustin (Lacey) Doksa, Keith (Teresa) Weaver, Ken (Christy) Weaver, Daniel (Brooke) Powers, Jessica (Gautam Yagnk) Powers, Michael (Wendy) Rushnok, Tyler (Justine Kaza) Rushnok, Casey (Dan) Geer, Joie (Joe) Becker, Justina (Drew) Matthews, and Jesse Powers), thirty four great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Powers, Jr., one granddaughter, Stacey Powers, six brothers; Howard, Peter, Frank, Arthur, Wylie and James Neilson, one sister, Lavina Neilson and one son-in-law Thomas Sauers.   8. Grace A. Muth, age 88 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on November 4, 1934 in Brady Township, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mazie (Hennman) London. On November 13, 1971 she married her husband of 51 years, C. “Earl” Muth. He survives. She was the manager and bookkeeper for Earl Muth Equipment for 50 years. Grace was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Chat n’ Sew quilting group. She enjoyed camping and country music. Along with her husband, Grace is also survived by her son Richard Muth and his wife Shelley of DuBois, PA, one granddaughter Toryn Muth, one sister Alice Huey of Las Vegas, NV and three nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen London and one brother-in-law, Robert Huey. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 4 PM -7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. and Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 10 AM until the time of service.   9. Melissa Lynn Burton, Age 48 of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on June 27, 1974 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of David M. Shifter & his wife Lisa of Clearfield, PA and Jean M. (Henry) Shifter of DuBois, PA. Melissa was in management at the Shoe Sensation in DuBois She is survived by sons, (Jacob Lee Burton of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Mason Lee Burton of Garner, NC), siblings (Ryan M. Shifter of Reynoldsville, PA and Lisa M. Perkins and her husband Ron of DuBois, PA), her paternal grandmother (Elinor Shifter of Clearfield, PA), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents (Robert and Patricia (Gray) Henry), and paternal grandfather(Clyde Shifter).   10. Peter Surkala, Age 93 of Falls Creek, PA entered Heaven on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Born on October 20, 1929 in Elnora, PA he was the son of the late George and Mary Fedorchak Surkala. On December 17, 1955 he married his wife of 63 years, Reetha L. (Fillers) Surkala. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2019. Pete was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He retried from Rockwell International Manufacturing as a nightwatchman. Previous to that, Pete had worked at the Crescent Brick Company as a pressman and the B.& O Car Shop as a carman. Pete attended the Gospel Center and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially loved his three cats, Kimba, Reeko, & Mikey. He is survived by four daughters;(Dixie Powers & her husband Mark of Falls Creek, PA, Debbie Farrall her husband Bill of Milford, DE, Dottie Shindledecker & her husband Jeff of Falls Creek, PA, and Danita Bishop & her husband Don Jr. of Reynoldsville, PA), a sister (Julia Voyten of Ohio), and five grandchildren; (Peter Bishop, Tyler, Jesse, Dustin and Alexis Shindledecker).   11. Christopher M. “Mike” Cyphert, Age 45 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on July 29, 1977 in Brookville, PA, he was the son of Donald Cyphert, Sr. who survives and lives in Jacksonville, FL, and Susan Lingenfelter who survives and lives in DuBois, PA. Mike enjoyed playing softball, hunting, and fishing. He also loved watching football, NASCAR, and above all, Imagine Wrestling. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé of many years, Nancy Boyer, two sons, David Cyphert and Michael Murray, III, both of DuBois, PA two brothers, Donnie Cyphert of DuBois, PA, and David Miller of Brookville, PA, and 3 half-sisters.   12. Lance B Benton, age 73 of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Lance was born on October 24, 1949 in Monterey, CA. He was the son of the late Herbert A. and Evelyn Ruth (Beachy) Benton, the second of four children. He was a graduate of Kittanning Senior High School in 1967 and of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1971. On August 22, 1970 in Kittanning, PA, he married his wife of 52 years, Evelyn L. (Dunmire) Benton. Lance attended IUP and entered the US Army through ROTC. Upon graduation, he entered Armor training school in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He graduated from Armor school near the top of his class, however in 1971 the Army was reducing forces, so Lance was transferred to the PA National Guard to fulfill his military duty. With his career ambition of serving active duty military now unavailable, he found a perfect fit with an Armor unit in Ligonier and he returned to his college job at the Indiana Gazette in the circulation department. Lance retired as Captain of Co. A 1/103rd Armor, 28th Division, National Guard of Ligonier, PA in 1982. While Lance loved his job at the Gazette, he soon learned that he truly wanted to be an entrepreneur. In 1977, Lance began his journey in business. Lance eventually founded Buck’s Pizza with his wife and family which he grew as a franchise across the nation for many years before finally opening local locations in 2010. Lance had a gift for marketing and loved being in business to develop employees and serve customers. He was dedicated to serving food that he was proud to take home to his own family. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Lance enjoyed reading, traveling, hunting, fishing, cooking and clearing his farm property - his fortress of solitude. In Lance’s younger days, he also enjoyed boating, golfing and snow skiing. Lance’s passion for food extended to his home. He loved to feed his family. Food was one of his love languages. Lance had a gift for storytelling and enjoyed a great sense of humor. He was authentic, thoughtful, and caring. No one who met Lance could forget his infectious smile and love for others. Lance was a family man. Family meant everything to him. He is survived by his loving wife, Evy, his two sons, Nathan Benton and Joshua (Wendy) Benton of DuBois PA, and his daughter, Gretchen (Ryan) Meyers of Westfield, NJ. He is also survived by his three siblings, Christian (Alana) Benton of DuBois, PA, Susan (Rip Ballou) Benton of Washington, DC, and Amy (Tom Chase) Benton of Frederick, MD. He has 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild – Brandon (Maggie) Benton, Kayla (Anthony) Black, Laurel Benton, Hunter Benton; Lincoln, Olivia, Naomi and Josephine Meyers; Hank and Julia Benton; and Sienna Black. He is also survived and loved by his wife’s siblings: Denny Dunmire (deceased) and Karen Dunmire, Anne (Terry) Bumpers, Jeanne (Bruce) Watson, Robbie (Bob) Jack, Marian (John) Morris, Kaye (Mike) Woytowish, Arleen (Rob) Pryde, Carole (Greg Wyant) Shepard, Nancy (Tim) Bowser, Laura (Charles) Himes. He is also beloved by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Robert and Gertrude (Henry) Dunmire. There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. A celebration of life at Buck’s Pizza will directly follow the mass. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.   13. Joan C. Robertson, Age 79 of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 3, 2023 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA. Born on March 13, 1943 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis & Christine (Slack) Alburg. On April 8, 1972, she married Douglas “Alan” Robertson. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2012. Joan had worked in the art department at Jackson China and had worked for Weight Watchers for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church where she was very active in church affairs. Joan was also a member of the Contemporary Women’s Club of DuBois and enjoyed traveling and doing crafts. Joan is survived by two children, (Crystal L. Sayers & her husband Shawn of DuBois, PA, and Brent A.   14. Beverly J. Caine, age 84 of DuBois, PA died Monday, February 27, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on August 19, 1938 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Lois (Aljoe) Bundy. On June 26, 1965 she married her husband of 57 years, John “Jack” Caine. He survives. Beverly retired from the DuBois Village in the Activities Department and had previously worked at the DuBois Regional Medical Center as a supervisor in Nutrition Services and had also worked at Jackson China for 17 years. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, the Sandy Hose Company Fireman’s Club, and had served as the secretary for both the DuBois Area Alumni Association, and the Sandy Alumni Association. She was also a life member of the Warsaw Sportsman’s Association. Along with her husband, Beverly is survived by her children; Donald Hess (Chris) of DuBois, PA, Deborah Muth (Bob) of Rockton, PA, Edward Caine (Shelly) of Falls Creek, PA and Kevin Caine (Stephanie Orinko) of DuBois, PA, twelve grandchildren , fourteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one sister, Patricia Bundy of DuBois, PA.   15. James G. Hrin, age 64 , formerly of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Born on November 25, 1958 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late James F. Hrin and Betty “Betts” (Ferari) Hrin. His mother survives and lives in DuBois. He was a 1976 graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School. He then graduated from Gannon University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Jim worked as a civilian for the United States Navy for over 30 years. He began his career in Washington, DC before transferring to San Diego, CA where he worked until retiring. After retirement, he made his home in Rosarito Beach, Mexico and San Diego. Jim enjoyed cars, guns, being involved with his church and traveling around the world, including trips to Italy, Jerusalem, Greece and Asia, and visiting his family here in DuBois. Along with his mother he is survived by four siblings; Marty Hrin and his wife Karen of Rockton, PA, Janice Leeser and her husband Tom of Milton, PA, Trisha Longmore and her husband Tom of Kissimmee,FL and Bob Hrin and his wife Debbie of Beechwoods, nieces and nephews; Heidi Weibe, Katie Leeser, Tyler Leeser, Ryan Longmoore, Emily Longmoore, Nicole Longmoore, Cameron Hrin and Weston Hrin.   16. Richard “Blaine” Hockman, age 62 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his home. Born on May 14, 1960 in DuBois, PA he was the son of the late Richard M. Hockman and Carole (Loughman) Hockman. His mother survives and lives in DuBois. On May 26, 2012 he married his wife Vickie L. (Troupe) Hockman. She survives. Blaine worked for 27 years at Brockway Pressed Metals as an electrician in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Brockway Handgunners and the National Rifle Association. He was a self-employed pyrotechnician and also worked for Zambelli International Fireworks. He was proud of the fact that he set off the fireworks for the Brockway Old Fashioned 4th of July for 17 years. Blaine was also known as being the “Chuck Buster” having “taken care of” over 700 groundhogs in his day. He also participated in, and won several awards in shooting competitions, was an avid car enthusiast and Rolling Stones fan. Blaine is also survived by one son Keif Richard Hockman, three stepsons; Douglas, Benjamin and Zachary Means, and step grandchildren Benjamin Means, Jr. and Kaitlin Means, his aunt and uncle Susan and Bill Robb and their children.   17. Mary R. Blose, age 78 of DuBois, PA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on July 4, 1944 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Eva (Hayes) Marshall. Mary wed her first husband Donald R. Krach on December 18, 1964. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1978. Mary then wed Leon S. Blose on July 4, 1980. He survives. Mary retired from the DuBois Area School District as the head cook at Juniata Elementary School and was a school bus driver for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader and the bus driver for the Sykesville Leopardetts for many years. When her kids marched with the group, Mary’s nickname became Evel Knievel from the members of the marching group. Mary was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Luthersburg, PA, a member of the over 50 Club, had been an auditor for Brady Township and was a member of the Luthersburg Union Cemetery Board. Mary had a big heart and always helped anyone that she could. She will be missed for her cooking and friendliness. She always helped out at her church and loved listening to the Polka Party on Sunday.   18. Kathleen Marie “Kathy” Welch, age 61 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on May 26, 1961 in Erie, PA , she was the daughter of the late Norbert J. Walczak and Clara Giulianelli Walczak. She grew up in Erie where she attended high school at St. Benedict Academy. Following high school, she went on to graduate from Gannon University where she met her future husband, Edward L. Welch Jr. Kathy and Ed were married in Erie, PA on September 21, 1985. In her professional life, Kathy worked as a legal secretary and was employed at Quinn Law Firm in Erie, PA, Maryland National Bank in Baltimore, MD, and Hopkins Heltzel Law Firm in DuBois, PA. It was in DuBois that Kathy and Ed eventually settled and raised their two children Andrew and Alexander. Kathy was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was an active volunteer at church festivals and DuBois Central Catholic where her children attended. Kathy was a passionate fan of Penn State football, enjoyed camping at Cook Forest State Park, soaking up the sun in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and indulging in a good cup of she-crab soup. Above all else, she loved her family deeply and was at her happiest when she was gathered with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Ed; son and daughter in law Andrew and Marla Welch; granddaughters Laura, Sophie, Rosalie, and Stella Welch; son and daughter in law Alex Welch and Alissa Agnew; and siblings David Walczak, Barbara Lieb and her husband Ted, Donald Walczak, and Christopher Walczak. Kathy will be remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and close friend. Those who were blessed to have known her will know that she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Kathy will be dearly missed but her legacy and the lessons that she taught will live on in the hearts of all the lives she touched. Born on November 9, 1949 in Sykesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Alexander and Margaret (Magolis) Leonard. On May 31, 1967 she married her husband of 55 years, James Martin Beatty, Jr. He survives. Jeannie enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and playing games with her family. Born on May 16, 1933 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard J. and Mary Catherine (Daugherty) Hand. She was married to Earl E. Snyder. He preceded her in death in 1986. She then married Clarence Spicher. He preceded her in death as well. Mary worked at Brockway Glass Company for 22 years and was a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for 31 years. She was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17 and was the Past President of the New Horizon Singles Club.   21. Robert S. Rehm, Jr. of DuBois, PA (Treasure Lake) and Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Indiana, PA passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL. Born on July 4, 1930 in Indiana, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Twila (Sloan) Rehm. On September 25, 1953 he married his wife of 69 years, Dorothy (Kromer) Rehm. She survives. He is also survived by one daughter Susan Rehm of Phoenix, AZ, one son Richard Rehm of Fort Worth, TX, three granddaughters; Megan Glover (Brandon) of Waco, TX, Courtney Klesel (Jason) of Dallas, TX and Rachel Rehm of Dallas, TX. Bob was a 1948 graduate of the Indiana High School and a 1952 graduate of Indiana University. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, received a commission, and was assigned to a construction battalion in Korea where he was involved with the restoration of a school and a medical clinic at a small Korean village that had been destroyed in the war. Upon his release from the service, he became employed by the Pennsylvania Electric Company where he spent the remainder of his working life. He filled various positions, starting as an Engineering Assistant in Punxsutawney, PA and ending his career in 1990 as the Division Director in the Clearfield Central Division office. While in Clearfield, he was active in community work. He was a member and past president of the hospital board , a member and past president of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Clearfield Foundation, United Way Board and DuBois Educational Foundation. Bob was an avid golfer for over 40 years with three holes-in-one to his credit. He especially enjoyed both courses at Treasure Lake. He also liked water skiing and working around the yard. His very favorite hobby for over 50 years was his music. He was an accomplished trumpet player and was active with several groups over the years. He was Principal Trumpeter with the Jaffa Temple Concert and Marching Band for over 25 years. Bob was Methodist by faith. Fraternally, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Punxsutawney, Coudersport Consistory, Jaffa Shrine in Altoona and the Jaffa Jesters Court #70. He was also a member of the Clearfield Elks and the DuBois American Legion. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.   22. Shirley Anna Harris, age 86 of DuBois, PA died peacefully, and walked into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on December 13, 1936 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Hauck) Reasinger. Shirley married Harry W. Harris. He preceded her in death in October of 1994. Shirley had retired from Owens Brockway Glass Company after 37 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friend Doris in Sykesville, and loved her dog Fancy. Shirley loved all sports, and rooted for all of the Pittsburgh teams. She also looked forward to, and enjoyed going for a ride with her son every weekend. Shirley is survived by one son, Sandy “Mike” Harris of DuBois, PA, two daughters; Sherry Trammell and her fiancé Dave Walker of Sykesville, PA and Susan Pringle and her husband David of DuBois, PA, two grandchildren; Cryssi Park and William Pringle and six great grandchildren.   23. Joseph Becker, known by most as “Dad,” “Papa,” or “Joe,” passed away on January 24th, 2023 in his Rochester, New York home. He was 76 years old. Papa served in the United States Army for two years during Vietnam, where he repaired communication systems. He spent 25 years at Xerox from 1981-2006. As a father and grandfather, Papa was funny, stubborn, and he loved to tease, but most importantly, he was loving and caring. He is survived by his children: Danielle R. DeLong, Joseph B. Becker (Kristen), and Stephanie A. Everett (Reggie); his sisters Joan G. Becker and Iona R. Snyder (Arnold); thirteen grandchildren; one great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.   24. Richard L. Steuernagle, Age 73 of DuBois, PA died Friday, February 3, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on July 20, 1949 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Karl & Florence (Pifer) Steuernagle. Dick worked for 20 years at Rockwell International Manufacturing as a product engineer. After his retirement from Rockwell, Dick became the assistant to the Lutheran Bishop of the Allegheny Synod. Since 2000, he was a Synodical Authorized Minister at Grace Lutheran Church in Curwensville, Olanta, & New Millport. Dick held three degrees from the Pennsylvania State University. In 1971 he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Engineering in 1973 , and in 1981, a Doctorate in Hydro Dynamic Engineering. Dick loved all things Penn State and had been a Penn State Football Season Ticket Holder for 30 years. He was also a member of the Penn State DuBois Alumni Association. He had been a member of Christ Lutheran Church where he had sung in the choir , was a catechism teacher, and was a delegate to “Church Wide”. Dick is survived by numerous cousins and friends.   25. Donald B. Wolfe, Age 84 of Sykesville, PA, died Friday, February 3, 2023 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on January 7, 1939 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Donald C. & Dorothy (McIntire) Wolfe. He was married to Helen L. (Dunlap) Wolfe. She survives. Don was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a driller for Fairman Drilling for over 20 years. After his retirement, Don worked at the Kwik Fill in both DuBois and Punxsutawney. He is survived by 5 children(Terry Wolfe and Brian Wolfe and his wife Lisa, both of Florida, Tammy Travis & her husband Rick of Anita, PA, Melanie Wolfe of Sykesville, PA, and Sherry Park of Punxsutawney, PA); 8 grandchildren (Derek, Aaron, Cody, Jared, Zach, Ryan, Shaylea, & Ashley); 4 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters (Shelda, Nelda, & Sarah Katherine).
