The Golden hour was quickly approaching when this Redtail Hawk landed in this brushy tree and was watching something very intently. I grabbed a quick shot and didn't have time to switch to a smaller focus pattern. Luckily the depth of field allowed the Hawk to be in focus. > Tom Dorsey -

Exposure to artificial, bright, outdoor night-time light linked to higher stroke risk
I know that the bright LED lights that illuminate the downtown and residential streets are a big point of pride for our city management, but... https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/03/240325172425.htm "" "Our study suggests that higher levels of exposure to outdoor artificial light at night may be a risk factor for cerebrovascular disease," "Therefore, we advise people, especially those living in urban areas, to consider reducing that exposure to protect themselves from its potential harmful impact." "Artificial sources of light include fluorescent, incandescent and LED light sources. Continuous exposure to these light sources at night can suppress melatonin production, a hormone that promotes sleep. This can disrupt the 24-hour internal clock in people and impair sleep. People with poor sleep, compared to good sleepers, are more likely to experience worse cardiovascular health over time, according to the study. The American Heart Association's Life's Essential 8 includes healthy sleep as one of the eight healthy lifestyle behaviors and health measures that drive optimal cardiovascular health"" Unless we are using our streets as a landing strip, why not reduce the intensity? I would that most of the people impacted on our residential would agree. I would also bet that city management likely does not care enough to do anything about it. I guess they must see some advantage in producing residual light as far as Reynoldsville?? (No exaggeration) Aside from the health concerns, I would be surprised if most people find all bright white light aesthetically pleasing. -

UH-O what just happened with the Liberal networks??? Some educated person controlling NBC has seen the light and has decided that maybe NBC has to start showing and living with other ideas than liberal ideas in order to pay the bills and be worth watching. He\she\it decided to hire a non-liberal to sit at a table with the liberals and present her/his/ it's opinions and facts concerning the news. BAM WRONG MOVE He/she/it's employees staged a total revolt because they would have to entertain other thoughts and facts. So much for the liberal Fire Ring that has existed for years with it's unchallenged thoughts/opinions/facts. The liberal wimpy so-called educated boss caved in to his/her/it's employees. The liberal fire ring of propaganda will survive but it will pay one woman a huge amount of money for breaking an agreement. Perfect proof of what the liberals are willing to do in order to spread their lies and propaganda to their single minded listeners. YA BUDDY, don't jump into our fire ring with anything we don't want to hear or acknowledge. We are just so happy wallowing in our own stupid sh1t. Plus we don't want to lose our non-thinking viewers. They would be lost without us telling them how they are supposed to think and feel.
