dyna99
A fellow my husband works with gave us some strawberry plants, and I need to know how to plant them, and what is best as far as the sun goes. Anyone with any info will be appreciated!
doogie67
I have mine in full sun but there are alot of different variaties and it may matter. On a side note, I read that if you mulch them in pine needles, it would increase the sweetness. I did and the difference was amazing. Much sweeter. dyna99
Do you fertilize the dirt? Add anything to the dirt? Never really had luck with the wild ones I tried to grow before!!

lavender
This explains how to plant them for maximum yield. http://extension.illinois.edu/strawberries/growing.cfmIt is the way I was taught to plant them. When the mother plants stop yielding you can just roto-till them under and let he runners fill in. dyna99
dyna99
So I shouldn't expect anything from the plants this year? Haven't got them in the ground yet since we are redoing our backyard and haven't got to the garden yet...
