Ruth J. Heffner Zemak Plyler, Age 100 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born on September 19, 1918 in DuBois, PA she was the daughter of the late Jacob & Margaret (Reasinger) Heffner.

She attended the DuBois Area High School.

Ruth married Joseph P. Zemak in 1937.  he preceded her in death in 1966.  In 1967, she married Robert M. Plyler who preceded her in death in 2000.

Ruth worked at BF Goodrich from 1954 until 1971 when the plant closed.  She then worked at the DuBois Hospital Grille for many years.  In her younger years, she was associated with the First United Methodist Church in DuBois.  She loved gardening and growing African Violets, cooking and baking, playing bingo, crocheting and making Christmas ornaments, and most importantly, being with her family.

Ruth is survived by 10 grandchildren (Patty Taylor Baummer of Penfield, PA; Marcia Fuller of Fayetteville, AK; William Fuller of Pittsburgh, PA; Richard Taylor of Troy, TX; Charles Fuller of Pittsburgh, PA; Stephen Taylor of Sykesville, PA; John Cozen of Aldie, VA; David Taylor of Cincinnati, OH; Richard Schindley of DuBois, PA, and Robin Park of DuBois, PA), 14 great grandchildren (Bretta Beers; Chris & Andrew Taylor; Justin & Emily Taylor; Olivia & Ely Fuller Caldwell; Zoe & Jake Fuller; Charles Jr.& Catherine Fuller; John "Jay" & Sophia Cozen; and Xzai Park) and a great-great granddaughter (Zeplyn Beers).

She was preceded in death by her 5 children (Infant Joseph, Janet DeBoer, Nancy Fuller Zemak, Joanne Taylor, & Marjorie Cozen Schindley),5 brothers (Floyd, Edward, Fredrick, Jacob, & Leonard "Tony") 5 sisters (Nellie Minns; Anna Belle Turner Fike; Sarah Kelly Pasierb; Emma Susty; & Alice Groves)2 infant grandchildren (Susan Taylor & Marc Schindley), and a granddaughter in law (April Taylor).

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Orndorff officiating.

Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed with the DuBois Nursing Home in honor of the wonderful care Ruth received and/or the DuBois Ministerial Food pantry because she did not want to see anyone go hungry.
