Predictions? Who will be at the top?  Im looking at Clarion as a contender since CL is now a coop. St Marys might be a surprise with new coaches. Head Coach will be Coach Dworek formerly of Brookville. His Offensive coodinator will be Coach Varischetti  formerly from brockway and Dubois. They will develop that program. Brookville? Coudersport? Of course Clearfield always in the running.

Ridgway should have been in the mix there Jaman. Come on man. No love, I get it but some begrudging respect at least. That defense is stellar .and they are continuing with the large mix of weapons offensively.

St Marys suited 50 players with size and couldn't win a game last season. Look for that to change drastically with the new coaching staff. The St. Marys boosters have been working hard to bring the program around. The coaching change is just what was needed. This Friday's matchup with Ridgway is the game of the week. Varischetti offense vs Heindel defense, who blinks first?

Bradford lost 24 to graduation.

Punxy is returning 15 of 16 starters so who knows there.

Brookville with Jack Krug is in the top tier. Definitely in the hunt.

Karns City and Moneteau are proud programs and can't be overlooked.

This boils down to a most interesting Large School season. Great matchups every week in a competitive field.

Clarion's AD says the co-op is going well. We'll see in it's first year. The best back in the district along with the best lineman. The question- is this all they have? They are going to need more to compete in this field.

Looking forward to it.

Im looking for it too.  Thank you. I didnt know it was starting this early.. I thought the 3oth.  Yes Ridgway is steady and solid. Heindel has that program in steady mode. A lot like their Mens basketball program. But without J-Burg players. Brockway has lost a lot.  QB and line. When that happens they rebuild in 2 years with the first year as a transition. THe last 3 QBS (Shaffer-Doan, Miller, Downer)since Buganza were 2 year starters. This year  YOu would think Punxsy is improved but they seem to tail off. There is always that one surprise team. Ridgway vs St Mary's.  This is the first year of the new offense. Their will be growing pains in the first year. If they have developed a QB St Mary's will light it up as that  Varischetti offense does everywhere it has been. Even at Dubois. But Dubois forgot defense.

Brockway's first down team in 20 years. 18 graduated seniors will do that.

sometimes-----------many successful teams live off the talents of the underclassmen, who are often far more athletic than the seniors.....

There are some athletes in the pipeline.  The Midget program is successful. The Jr Hi has some good coaches.  As coach yourself, sometimes you have a good group of athletes in the same class that you groom and stick with because they are very successful. But when they graduate, you have to start again. The current Juniors and Sophomores are getting good experience.

Congrats to Coudy on it's 2nd consecutive d9 title and to Ridgway for it's 4th.

I haven't talked to any single A players of coaches. I don't know what next season looks like. A couple AA players said Clarion is losing a lot of talent to graduation. This was their year. They're picking Karns City and Ridgway as the teams to beat next year. I would have guessed Brookville too but they weren't as keen on the Raiders.

Ridgway--Has about two more seasons before the cycle starts trending down.

Karns City--Has the tradition and coaching and players for a good season.

Clarion--Graduation losses.  But never count ot a Larry Wisor coached team.

Bradford--Unknown.

DuBois--Will win some games with the competition. But it might help the program in the short run but will not help them in playoffs.

Brockway--A lot of neglect in player development and building enthusiasm for the program in the past.  Tom Weaver is a good coach but he has been dealt a bad hand to work with.  Some talent and will win some games playing in the mall school division.  This could have been avoided if the atmosphere would have been different.  The past administration seemed to want programs where everyone plays (Intramural Mentality) but did not encourage anyone to put in the effort to get to the next level.

Punxsutawny-- Probably not good.

Kane--Good program.  They will be in the mix.

Moniteau--Unknown.

Curwensville--Still Rebuilding

ECC--Cold benefit if the coop with Cameron County.

Coudy--A good program back on track

Smethport--Not sure.  What the hell is a Hubber?  (A cut at a former Girlfriend)

Port Allegheny, Otto-Eldred, Sheffield--Fugga bout it.

A lot of this depends on any upcoming coop agreements.

Accurate.  Also, the youth of Brockway are raised with a mentality to be complacent with minor achievements.  Accept mediocrity.  This is proven with the classic, "Pretty good for a small school" comment that runs rampant after a loss.  Justifying their mediocrity.  They have convinced themselves that they're pretty good, but only in a small school/town standard and nothing more.
