Staley, age 77 of DuBois, PA (formerly of Sykesville, PA) died Friday, April 23, 2021 at Christ The King Manor. Born on April 7, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of the late Dorothy S. (Logan) Deters. On October 28, 1967 he married Rosemary (Swackhammer) Staley. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2020 David was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Vietnam War. He had worked in mobile maintenance for Penelec. David is survived by 1 daughter (Kim Staley Clark) and her fiancé (Jason Shaffer) of DuBois, PA four grandchildren (Candace Irwin Bowers, Jasmine & Mackena Staley and Amanda Shaffer), 8 great grandchildren, two brothers; (James Deters and his wife Mary of Reynoldsville, PA and Richard Deters and his life companion Evelyn of Pittsburgh, PA) and one sister(Linda Hendricks of Punxsutawney, PA). He was preceded in death by one daughter (Tammy Staley) and one brother Charles Deters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM from the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
