Evelyn R. Reid, Age 89 of Sykesville, PA died Friday, May 14, 2021 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

 

Born on May 16, 1931 in Sykesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (D’Amico) Martino.

 

On July 29, 1950, she married her Donald L. Reid. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1975.

 

Evelyn retired from the DuBois Area School District where she worked for 25 years as manager of the cafeteria.  She had also worked at Herb & Tom’s Market in DuBois.

 

She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed listening to polka music and being the “ticket taker” at the DuBois Beavers football games.

 

Evelyn is survived by a son (Donald J. Reid and his wife Dahlene “Dahle” of Sykesville, PA), a brother (Dr. James Martino and his wife Patricia of DuBois, PA), 7 grandchildren (D.J. Reid and his wife Jessica, Josh Reid and his wife Emily, Tricia Davis and her husband Nate, Michael Radaker and his wife Emily, Shawn Gallagher, Brian Gallagher and his wife Frannie, and Samantha Panaghetti and her husband Lou), numerous great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her two daughters (Donna Radaker and Roberta Gallagher).

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 6 PM – 8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11 AM from the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with Fr. William Barron as celebrant.

 

Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.

 

Memorial may be placed with the Sykesville Ambulance, 218 West Liberty Street, and/or the Sykesville Volunteer Fire Department,106 East Liberty Street, both in Sykesville, PA 15865.
