Police-night.jpgFALLS CREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Felony charges have been filed against a Reynoldsville man who has active warrants out of Jefferson and Elk Counties is accused of fleeing a traffic stop in Falls Creek Borough late last month.

Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 32-year-old Steven Matthew Siple.

According to a criminal complaint, around 2:30 a.m. on May 24, DuBois-based State Police observed a blue Chevrolet Impala traveling north on State Route 950 toward Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County, and discovered there was no record of the registration plate on the vehicle.

Police then attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Main Street and First Street in Falls Creek, and the vehicle pulled into a parking lot on Fuller Avenue.

According to the complaint, as the trooper was approaching the vehicle, the driver then fled, driving the vehicle out of the parking lot and onto Fuller Avenue heading toward State Route 950.

The complaint notes the trooper saw the vehicle flee “in a reckless manner,” failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Fuller Avenue and State Route 950.

The vehicle reportedly went airborne over State Route 950 and continued on Fuller Avenue, and the pursuit was discontinued due to public safety.

According to the complaint, a check of temporary records showed the vehicle was recently registered to a known woman with a Winslow Township address.

The complaint states that through investigation and interviews, it was then determined that the driver of the vehicle was Steven Matthew Siple who it was also found had active warrants out of both Jefferson County and Elk County.

The following charges were filed against Siple through Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on June 14:
