Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 52-year-old Christina Ruth Shaffer.

According to a criminal complaint, around 5:37 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, a State Parole agent contacted DuBois-based State Police and requested assistance with drugs found inside a residence in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police proceeded to the scene and spoke to the agent who reported that he and another agent were at the residence for a parole visit for Christina Ruth Shaffer.

During the visit, one of the agents noticed a bag of marijuana sticking out of a pink backpack in one of the rooms of the residence, the complaint states.

Shaffer was then asked to take a drug test, and the test came back positive for methamphetamine, the complaint continues.

She then reportedly admitted to using meth and told the agents that she had some in the residence. Shaffer then got out a blue gym bag, that had been in a bedroom closet, and the agents observed a large amount of methamphetamine in the bag. The bag was then secured until police arrived at the scene, according to the complaint.

Police then requested and were granted permission for a search of the residence.

The search revealed a blue duffle bag containing 12 clear bags of suspected methamphetamine, a black case of clear baggies, a clear ziplock container, a clear bag containing multicolored rubber bands, and a digital scale. A further search then located two small mirrors with old residue of an unknown substance, a pink make-up bag containing $3,410.16 in cash, one white zippered make-up bag containing $2,000.00 cash, and loose money laying on the dresser and nightstands totaling $9,743.00.

In another room, police located a pink backpack containing a clear plastic bag of suspected marijuana, a silver container with 10 suspected burnt marijuana “roaches,” a red container with a plastic container of suspected methamphetamine, a grinder with suspected marijuana residue, and a black vape pen.

Shaffer was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 12:45 p.m. on July 21, on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $100,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on August 10 with Judge Inzana presiding.
