24-Hour Flagging Begins Today at State Route 28/322 Intersection

roadwork-2-1.jpgJEFFERSON CO., Pa. – Starting today, September 14, there will be a 24 hour flagging from the intersection of State Route 28/US 322 to the end of the project on State Route 28 in Brookville Borough and Pine Creek Township.

According to PennDOT District 10 Community Relations Coordinator Christina Gibbs, he 24 hour flagging will be in place from today through Thursday, September 16.

PennDOT urges motorists to follow the posted signs and delineations and to build extra time into their travel schedule as delays are expected while this work takes place.

The contractor is Thomas Construction of Grove City, PA. The project cost is $4,315,289.

Overall work on the project includes overlay, drainage, water line replacement, signal work and other miscellaneous construction. Once the project is complete, there will be improved traffic flow and increased safety at the intersection of State Route 322 and Evans Street, and at the intersection of State Route 28 and State Route 322.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

roadwork-2-1.jpgBROOKVILLE, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming changes in traffic patterns at the PA 28/US 322 intersection in Brookville Borough and Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

Beginning October 18, motorists can expect traffic pattern changes at various locations throughout the construction zone as paving of the final wearing course are being completed. Motorists should remain alert for changes and expect delays. Traffic control signs and markings will be present.

The new traffic signal is currently operating in flash mode and will be in full operation on October 26.

Contractor, Thomas Construction, Inc. from Grove City, PA is completing the work for this $4,315,289 project.
