Have you gone to PH DuBois recently?  They are dangerously understaffed, in my opinion.  The Gov't needs to calm down and step back!  Good luck to the protesters, dress warm and wear chap stick! Supposed to be cold and windy.

Protest set at Penn Highlands DuBois to take a stand against vaccine mandate

DuBOIS — Healthcare workers and community members are planning to line the sidewalks in front of Penn Highlands DuBois as part of a "Medical Freedom of Choice Rally" on Friday.

The protest, a "stand against forced mandates and a stand for freedom," is set for 2-4 p.m. Friday on public sidewalks of 100 Hospital Ave.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring signs, banners or just themselves, the Facebook page says. The protest is open to anyone who supports freedom of choice.

According to an email distributed Nov. 11 to employees on vaccine updates and exemption procedures, Penn Highlands Healthcare is "complying with the mandate issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services," which is requiring that healthcare workers have the COVID-19 vaccine.

"According to the federal mandate, all employees – union and non-union system wide, must be fully vaccinated by Jan. 4, 2022, and the first dose of a two-dose regimen must be administered by Dec. 5, 2021," the email says.

The CMS mandate also states that weekly COVID-19 testing is not an option for healthcare workers, according to the PHH Communications release online.

"Employees not fully vaccinated by Jan. 3, 2022 will be placed on non-paid administrative leave for 45 days. After 45 days, they will be terminated," the website notes.

Wendy Whelpley and Mandy Freemer, certified medical assistants with PHH, are two of the organizers.

"We are slowly losing our freedoms, especially our medical freedom," said Whelpley.

The women noted that healthcare employees have been working diligently all throughout the pandemic, and now, they could be at risk of losing their jobs if they choose to not get the vaccine.

"We should be able to decide what we put in our bodies... not the government or anyone else," Whelpley said.

The women said there are people they know of who are vaccinated against COVID-19 who are still contracting COVID and passing it around, and yet, they still get to keep their jobs.

The situation is being viewed by some, like the protesters, as "unconstitutional."

"They are really putting all of us in a terrible situation of losing our jobs that we love, or giving up the last bit of freedom we have," said Whelpley.

Ultimately, the women say, no one should have to choose between their career and the vaccine.

"In the end, it will be patients who suffer from this mandate," Whelpley added, noting that the hospital is already struggling from a shortage of workers.

"But, we need to stand up for what we believe is right."

The Courier Express contacted Penn Highlands Healthcare officials for comment; those questions — including ongoing court challenges to the federal mandate — are expected to be addressed at a PHH COVID-19 media teleconference scheduled for Thursday.

What is the point? The hospital has to abide by the mandate or lose reimbursements needed to stay open. They lose Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements then these same people  protesting will lose their jobs when the hospital can't stay open anyways.

True. Plus hospitals generally require certain vaxes to be employed anyway. The protest against the hospital is pointless.  You are required to have backround checks as well. If you refuse any of these, you won’t be employed at a hospital. There are lots of requirements; this is just one more. Basically…..don’t like it……look elsewhere that doesn’t require it.  Simple.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m fully against dictator Biden’s mandate BUT most all hospitals would mandate it without him anyway…..similar to the way they do and can other things.

There is a religious exemption and a medical exemption.  There should also be an ethical exemption.

A friend that works at PH said that if someone turns in a religious exemption they are going to check flu shot records and if they have had the flu shot the religious exemption is out the window. Now that is heresy she said but makes sense. What religion says you can't get the shot except maybe amish? People are really pushing it with that.

True.  Maybe it's a way for the employees to let the community know where they stand?  I have heard that PH will be accepting nearly any and all exemptions to prevent firings.  That's a smart move.

Speaking with one in upper management, they told me the opposite.  Said, if we receive an exemption we'll approve it.  I can't imagine them having the time/capacity to check everyone's records being short staffed.

The point is to demonstrate to all how many people that work there will be making a serious choice to stay or leave.  The more that attend might indicate how many will be gone soon on principle.

They're mad and want to vent together.

Some like to go down making a stand.

I support them 100%

I support anyone who wants to make their own decisions on their health and livelihood, and kudos to all of them that can live without an income.  I know I couldn't.

"I heard"   "She said"  he said

she said means nothing. Its a "Wait and see"

Thats why I worded it the way that I did. I didn't act as if what I was saying was the solid truth. It would make sense though.

This video hit home tonight with the potential losses of health care workers over the COVID Shot.  How far down can the personnel at the hospital go before patients cannot be cared for adequately?

“At the end of the day, nobody in Florida should be losing their job over these jabs. We want people to be able to work, we want people to be able to provide for their families. We want people to be able to have livelihoods, and that’s just the way it’s going to be in this state,” he added.

"Governor DeSantis is proud to take this stand and protect Floridians against unconstitutional, unscientific, job-killing federal overreach," DeSantis's press secretary, Christina Pushaw, told The Hill in a statement.

The location where DeSantis chose to sign the legislation — Brandon, Fla. — alluded to the phrase "Let's go, Brandon," which conservatives have popularized as a coded insult to President Biden .

I am shocked and saddened to see the attitudes of giving up and giving in to tyranny in your community. Do you not see it your rights and freedoms are almost gone? Covid19 has been part of the World Economic Forums plan for the "Great Reset" for generations. This bioweapon , lab created virus was set free to kill you! The experimental gene therapy shot causes more problems with your health than the Virus. Where is the data? What happen to the ferrets that did receive the initial injections? (all died within days).

Have you done your research (non-MSM) to see what is in the shot? Steve's thread on the Great Awakening carries some info on this , I believe.

Where is the freedom of choice? Recently, the CDC came out with an article that stated there is NO EVIDENCE of UNvaxxed giving Covid to the VAXXED. I know you like resources...I will dig later...sorry. The Fifth Circuit court has ruled the shot mandate (mandates are only suggestions, not laws) are unconstitutional . Yet PH Chiefs keep pushing the clot shot.

Stand up with these ladies!!  It is about medical tyranny. Next will be the vax passport implemented..as that is the New World Order goal...It is about our freedom.

So , bundle up and get ya'lls a$$e$ on Main St today. If I were home, I would be there.

God bless those ladies.

To Lyndsey33, you have been such a great warrior so far ("no masks, no social distancing, don't tell me what to do"), and now I sense you are giving up...hope you are ok. Don't give up my friend...now is not the time. :)
