rich00 Posted August 23, 2011 Share Posted August 23, 2011 Tom Mix in Du Bois Here's a newly acquired photo from the M.I. McCreight Collection showing Tom Mix's Mercedes in front of Hotel Du Bois. No doubt M.I. was there. He wouldn't miss it. Mix was visiting friends, and in Du Bois to make a speech to the Rotary Club. Any godubois folks know the date of Mix's visit? yatiri Posted November 15, 2011 Share Posted November 15, 2011 I imagine that he and his contemporaries who were in the lumber industry made sure that high quality materials went into that house. Plus there were many more forests and tall trees to pick from than we have now. And yes, I do think it will survive the winter. At least the beams shown above will make it.
