The sign is beautiful they put up today... Wonder if there was ever one before, maybe a long time ago when the wrought iron fence was still around the cemetary. anyhow it looks so nice now that sign  is up....

I agree with your comment about the sign!  Funny how something like that changes the entire look.  It would be nice to see a wrought iron fence replaced, however the wall is in such poor shape, that major reconstruction of it would need to take place first.

That is great !!

Read and seen so many things about the NEEDED up keep of a historical and abandoned cemetary in the past several years. Im glad to see that things are changing for the better to Honor those that are burried there.

Everytime Id drive down South Main St. and read the signs that donations were needed for up keep I wished I could.

But its nice to see a local business donate a nice sign and help make the situation a little better.

Just a thought, Dubois High School has a requirement for volunteer work before you can graduate..How about some young, strong kids to help with the clean up..Maybe have an ongoing thing each year..They learn how to give back to their community & the cemetary could get lots of volunteers..

I brought this up earlier about the community service that people have to do for school and also for court recommended service, it is a great idea plenty of kids have to do this to graduate and the cemetary benefits as well.

Cub Scout Troop 36 from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church volunteered to put flags on the Veterans graves in Rumbarger Cemetery on Saturday, April 24th. They also helped pick up limbs, pine cones, garbage and removed flowers.

Pictured left to right: Marc Smith, Evan Zedek, Zachary Munn, Daniel Cooley.

Thanks to the boys for doing a great job!!!
