Administrators Pompeii Posted June 7, 2022 Administrators Share Posted June 7, 2022 Janice C. Kear, age 86 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on August 24, 1935 in Penfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert & June (Emigh) Gontero. On October 29, 2000, she married Gordon D. Kear. He survives. Janice retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Clearfield. She was a member of the Penfield United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir. She is survived by four step children (Dale Kear & his wife Mitzi of DuBois, PA; Deborah Hepburn & her husband Jack of DuBois, PA; Renee Bojalad & her husband James of Reynoldsville, PA; and Gina Barefield of DuBois, PA). ten step grandchildren, and 21 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother (George Gontero) and her step son (Gregory D. Kear). There will be a no public visitation and a private service will be held. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery. Memorials may be placed with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
