Administrators Pompeii Posted July 1, 2022 Administrators Share Posted July 1, 2022 Bernadette H. “Bernie” McDowell, age 72 of DuBois, PA died Friday, July 1, 2022 at her home. Born on March 19, 1950 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ai and Helen (Folmar) Gormont. On October 16, 1971 she married Dallas D. McDowell, Jr. He survives. Bernie worked in the in Nuclear Medicine Department of DuBois Regional Medical Center where she had worked as an X-Ray Technician from 1968 until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping and going on cruises. Bernie is survived by one son (David McDowell of DuBois, PA), three brothers (Walter Gormont and his wife Jean and Roger Gormont and his wife Jody, both of Clearfield, PA and Dennis Gormont of Frenchville, PA) and a sister-in-law (Carol Gormont). She was preceded in death by one brother (Jerry Gormont). Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022 from 1 - 4 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 10 AM from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Frenchville, PA. Memorial donations may be made to Penn Highlands Hospice, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
