Personal Care Home Administrator

 

The noncredit 100-hour Personal Care Home Administrator training is required by PA Department of Human Services for current personal care home administrators, those who wish to become an administrator and direct care staff.  

 

Virtual via Zoom

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, August 16 - September 29

Times: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm (most classes will end by 5:00 pm)

Die Setter Training

 

Penn State DuBois, in partnership with several of the region’s leading powder metal companies, has developed a 74.5-hour course for existing employees who have shown loyalty and aptitude to the skills needed to become valued die setters for their organization. A unique combination of high-level classroom and hands-on training.

CNC Lathe Entry Level

 

This class is now being taught on a brand new, state-of-the-art Smart Machine Tool NL 1500 CNC Turning Center, featuring Industry Standard FANUC controls.

 

Penn State DuBois, in partnership with several of the region’s leading metal manufacturing companies have developed a 72-hour course for job seekers or existing employees who would like to learn basic CNC Lathe operating and programming skills. A unique combination of high-level classroom and hands-on training.

OSHA 10-Hour Class for General Industry

 

This training program is intended to provide entry-level, general industry, workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to identify, abate, avoid, and prevent job-related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards that a worker may encounter. 

 

Location: CEC, 4 Erie Ave., St. Marys

Date: Wednesday, September 28 and Thursday September 29

Times: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Students will receive their OSHA 10 card in the mail following completion of the course.

American Sign Language

 

The overall goal of this introductory sign language class will be for the students to learn, recognize and reproduce 50-100 signs, to be able to spell and read finger-spelling phonetically, and to converse with others at a basic level. The course is ACT 48 approved.

 

Location: Penn State DuBois

Dates: Tuesdays, October 4 - December 6

Times: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Basic Grant Writing

 

The COVID-19 Pandemic has made it even more important for all businesses to competently apply for local, state, and federal grants to help keep their business alive. This program will be delivered in webinar style and allow participants to work on their basic grant application skills. This training is supplemented by additional “homework” and one-on-one correspondence with the instructor, who will help students work on standard text that every company must have to apply for a grant.

Active Shooter Response Training

 

Active shooter training strengthens and reinforces an organization’s emergency action plan and can help reduce the risk of an incident occurring. 

  • This course is Act 48 approved for teachers and counselors.
  • Great for HR Professionals, Managers, and Team Leaders.
