I found a couple pics, and have the book.  My MIL and I have been working on their familiy's geneology for a little while now.  My hubby's family were among the early settlers in Beechwoods.  Yes, the book is great!

Did you see the article on Mrs. Sterrett (Jim's mom) in last Sunday's Courier?  She was a big member of the community/school/church.

Here are a few links I've found in researching.....

Good Luck Jen!  I made it back to my 6th great grandfather and that's when I became stuck.  I started tracing another side of mine and became stuck when my family came from England.....I was trying to trace mine back to the Tudor Dynasty.  I just can't make the England/US link.  There were so many of them!

I know....I hit a road block with the immigration from Ireland/Scotland to here too.  Will work on it some more this winter since I'm laid off.  As soon as our taxes are finished up!  I have a ton of links for ancestry/geneology....just have to get back into them and keep diggin.

It's quite difficult...hit or miss at best...to trace family from England. My Dad went around to a lot of court houses and county seats when he visited England in the '70s. Most of the records were destroyed in the bombings during WW2. His paternal grandparents were from the Birmingham area but their families were from rural Wales. The lady in the records bureau told him that, even if he had street addresses, they couldn't help because many of the streets changed completely after the bombing.

It's time to clean House...and Senate too!
